Actually that has happened several times in the past, the best example I can give you is "Deep Impact" and "Armageddon": (Spoilers 😅) both are about an asteriod headed to hit earth and a rescue space mission to prevent that from happening by drilling on the asteroid and dropping nukes within it...both are 1998 movies, released one a couple of months before the other. And just like OHF and WHD, one has a tense/dramatic tone and the other is more of an action-packed thriller 😁

@@legendgunner1249 That's not how a rocket works. Mainly one directional and can make one MAYBE 2 high G turns to target and then its about it. It can only move a certain amount of degrees off axis and then pitch in a direction before detonation but that's within sheer split seconds.

@@northerneastern the javelin has the ability to lock onto just about anything and can switch between fire modes. The javelins tend to use direct fire if enemy armor is too close for top down attack. Top down attack is just so much better because tanks have the least amount of armor on top.

Javelins are heat seeking, and yes they can be used to shoot down helicopters. However, the missile would have been easily fooled by the flares deployed by the Black Hawk, but sadly in this case the Black Hawk doesn't have plot armour

Also who was the idiot that decided they just had to air insert special forces in the heart of America?? This isn't Bin Laden's complex, they don't need to go through thousands of kilometers of hostile territory. They could have very easily surrounded the white house with police and special units, and then bring in seal team members to infiltrate the white house via ground.

If they had AA (those are AT weapons pretending to be AA) we wouldn’t go in on blackhawks. They would either drop us off out of range or we would take ground vehicles then walk if they had AT. If we could fly in and the bird can land on the roof the pilot just does that. If we have to fast rope onto the roof, he will only hover a few feet above. We can fast rope over 100 feet but it’s only necessary in extreme conditions or hard to reach LZ’s. Otherwise we would just land in the courtyard and breach. It all depends. But what we would never ever in a million years do is whatever the fk this was. And yes the guys on the fast rope would probably survive, but for the ones higher up something would be broken. You are wearing a minimum of 40 lbs, likely 65. And none of that gear is comfortable to land on.

Everything in this movie is crazy. Even as someone who has no experience in anything military related, I wouldn't fly anything that low, especially when the enemies have an rpg of some sort. Like, they clearly saw the rpg and flew head on into it. At this point, flares wouldn't work anymore because the chopper was that close to the person firing the rocket propelled grenade. 🤦‍♂🤦‍♂
