You have so much space in Australia and very generous planning authorities. The opportunities for GRAND designs are enormous and make the UK look like toytown.

It's more about Lisa project managing than a house being built !

I'm surprised that the architect wasn't aware about the lack of materials Australia had to offer to finish a building like this. Still, she did a great job considering the size of the project. No real mistakes, except the kitchen colour(should have been green). We've seen lots worse project management.

Despite all the grumpy old men comments on here...I love it! She hung onto her convictions even when stubborn contractors tried to impress THEIR will on HER house just because "that's not how we do things here."

Well done, lovely house and am sure it ll be a lovely hime once you have lived there for a while. It would be generic? had they decorated it in just two weeks. People commenting sound down right jealous.

She is a site manager and I bet the men were so impressed. Well now, how did this project go? It takes more than a "vision" to build a house and the decor is the last thing to worry about.

Love her kitchen. Bet in 2023 she is happy wuth color choice. PVC windows are great for upkeep in that humid climate!! Guess Hampton folks have so much money they don't mind caulking and repainting every few years. Not sure why the need so mant sq ft? Their money...

Australians favor a very simple, modern, unadorned style. This looks busy and fussy to Australians. It reminds them of the few older houses in Australia that do have all that decoration.

@@3506Dodge I know!!! It makes me SO SAD!!! With their FAKE panes. 'AS IF' they were actual wood-sash windows, except that they are so obviously NOT! And now, here (in the US), no one even twigs to how stupid they are. At least in the UK, people will screw up their noses in recognition of the fact!! And THAT makes me happy.

Men failing to respect a female. Having been through an episode of crying as a result of the lack of respect by 2 males this week, one over work done, I can understand how difficult it is for a woman, even if she was a trained project manager. I do really like the look of the house, whether or not I would like it for myself.

My lament with almost all the shows I see (and that is ALL that I watch; shows about houses!). It's shocking how many people build/buy/sell/remodel/expand houses and ... NO ART!! Just naked walls.

Not a fan of this style. She didnt want contemporary, but it looked very contemporary 1980s. Not old money Hamptons at all. But, to be fair its her house and her money paying, she should get exactly what she wants from suppliers and builders.

This is how professional class people live in the American South and Midwest. You could drug, kidnap, and blindfold me put me in this house and I don't know how long it would take for me to realize I wasn't in Texas or Georgia.

ONE PIECE AT A TIME ON SITE, so special but so are trusses just off site and then you need an expensive frame. So many 'expensive' things then cheap vinyl window frames, is it vinyl siding too? vinyl fencing, god the Hamptons are turning in their graves

Everything about how this woman is making a building is wrong. But these pretty princesses of the world who just marry rich and spend their husbands money can’t be told no to anything. Her biggest complaint is she has too much choice and can’t make up her mind. Imagine. Just throwing away money left and right for tiny adjustments that make no difference. I bet he spent twice what he said he did.
