I'm 77 years old. Last week I was trying to pick up a case of water from the bottom shelf and it slipped down to the to the floor. Without me asking, a very nice woman picked the case up off the floor and placed it my grocery cart. She was so kind that she offered to put it in my car when I was done shopping. I thanked her several times and said that wouldn't be necessary. Six days later I was having trouble getting an item from the top shelf when a man reached up and handed me the item. For 42 years I worked in the E. R. of several hospitals in a metro are with a population of 7 million. After retiring I volunteered in the E.R. for 7 years. After all these years it's nice to be receiving care, but I would go back to work providing care unfortunately I'm no longer able to poor health.

I get how it feeds ones soul to give care. Perhaps, you are providing others with opportunity to feel that? Corny, I know. But that's the stuff i have to do for my own psyche in similar situations, since my health has been a massive roller-coaster 😅 Take care! Also, never underestimate the power of genuine respect and care. The number of employees I've seen actually register that I give a GENUINE dang about them as an individual, and the impact ive seen that have, has been motivating tbh. 😉

I have an 8 yo cat that was found by a humane society employee in an apartment complex dumpster when he was apx 8 weeks. They nursed him back to health and I adopted him when he was apx 12 weeks old. He has a damaged tear duct in one eye and that eye waters a lot and leaves a streak down his face. Between him and I, we keep his face clean as best as possible. He also has a damaged inner ear and walks with his head tilted and hears everything in the opposite direction of where it is coming from. Needless to say, he is indoor only and is an only pet. He is the 4th cat I've owned in 40 years and he is the SWEETEST.

For me, I've set a very simple life goal for myself. If I can have a positive impact on the life of even one person, then I'll consider my life to have been worth it when my own time comes. Even the smallest and seemingly inconsequential act of kindness could mean the world to someone else. For instance, I'd never realized how much all of the little things I did for my grandmother had truly meant to her until after she'd passed. I always felt like they were things that any good grandson should and would do, but they meant even more to her than I ever realized. It wasn't until I read her last letter to me after her passing that I realized how much it had meant to her, and it's one of the few times I came close to crying after someone had passed (I rarely cry, even at funerals....doesn't mean I don't feel sad about it, it usually just doesn't hit me too hard if I can see the passing coming ahead of time).

I lifted a man off the rail tracks as the train was approaching when nobody else wanted to go for fear of electric shock, including the subway staff. But there were no cameras to film me. Am I a hero? No. I just didn't want to see him die in front of us, while we were making our safety a priority and disregarding his life. Many people do a lot of good to others. Very little is ever recorded or recognised.

In the Domino's story, I looked up follow up vids and saw that the couple who set up the gofundme were/are getting accusations of it being faked. It certainly did not look fake if you watch the whole original video and can see Barbara having difficulty just walking up the drive to the house. And, even if it was "set up", to what end? Either way that woman was a senior citizen who should not have to do pizza delivery to pay for her medication! I was happy to find the gofundme is still active and over $277K as of today. 28 August 2024.

time 23:06 was in a Government Hospital in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where an Indian patient's mother helped a young Malay patient who was all alone , incapable of feeding himself as his hands were injured. She showed compassion & care as if he were like a son & helped feed him. A time when there is so much racial discord sparked by some irresponsible extremists from a certain political party & is still happening discreetly...She didn't see the person for his race, color or creed but a human being that needed help. God bless her soul.

Made me tear up what maternal instincts are capable of not with just your own children. I'm so proud of the beautiful person she is.

By playing with the youth, acting like a normal and friendly person, these kids will grow up without hatred toward the officers. It's called "community outreach" and is done to show goodwill toward the community. The ten minutes or so these officers are playing basketball with these youngsters will probably do more with your tax dollars later on when these kids grow up a bit and stay out of trouble.

The garbage man did explain that sometimes it happens because the momma cat sees the garbage bin as a warm, safe place for her kittens, and puts them in there herself. While it certainly can be human cruelty, it sometimes is just an unfortunate accident.

Music is very healing indeed. When my young son was in the hospital, the doctors had to remove the cast from his leg. He was only 4, and all he saw was that saw and their other tools and a gaggle of men in scrubs and masks. He was hysterical, thinking they were going to cut off his legs. I put in some meditative music, and he immediately calmed down. Afterward, all the doctors were very impressed and very curious about the benefits of the music. Maybe they're using in more these days. Let's hope so. You can also use it to calm animals, even wild ones. If you don't have a music source handy, sing. I've found that, for these purposes, chanting ohm works the best because of its frequency and vibrational elements. 💖

That dog may have been thrown down the well on purpose - glad there were kind people to rescue it. You can hear someone say the word "galgo" in the video. Galgos, Spanish hunting dogs, are often killed when no longer wanted, and sometimes by torturous means.

The people at the railway 1:39 just stood by & waited for someone else to help the poor guy. What is wrong with folks. Jump in & help. Don't be embarrassed. It would be worse watching somebody get run over by a train because you stood around & filmed the incident instead.

As you can see, it's not as easy to get out as you may think, even when not carrying an injured indiviual with you. The best you can do in this situation is to call for help (like they possibly did) and to stand right at the end of the train tunnel and waving your hands over your head, so the driver knows to slow down as best as they possibly can in this situation. I know it can seem cruel to not jump right into action, but there's no gain in extra bodies on the tracks.

bystander effect, its a known psychological thing, its actually somewhat human, one of the causes of it is called Diffusion of responsibility, id actually recommend reading up a bit on both and looking into some of the ways to get others to act, one important way is eye contact, say you're choking but without anyone who knows you around in a crowded area, you might actually be less likely to be helped in such a situation single out a person as best you can, as it removes from being a group problem and makes it a sole responsibility its also why we are supposed to point at specific people to call 911 in a crowd if you just shout it out, its possible no one will due to thinking surely someone else had! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bystander_effect en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffusion_of_responsibility
