Whats funny and depressing is that after like 500 years, no one will remember the existance of spongebob squarepants. And there is a chance, in million years no one will remember the existance of human race. What if there have been advanced and inteligent civilisations really simmiliar to us, and they just went extinct? If this is true, then it is really possible that we will be next. All positive memories, all happiness, will be gone. We are humans, and we like to imagine things like space, and physics to be way stronger than they can be. Who knows? Black holes could be a final border... but what if they aren't? Maybe, all those events that happened will be repeated after the end of the universe, but there is always a chance they will not. We may become the same old cosmic dust we have been before we became organic material. Our bodies will form clusters in space, that will form celestial bodies. We may live on the planet partially made of our exaterrestial ancestors.

Fun little fact because I can provide it-- nori is considered a type of seaweed. It comes from pyropia, a type of red algae! It gets pressed out into big sheets that turn green in the drying process. Kombu, however, is a type of kelp you could've gotten /almost/ as easily as nori. Its a lot thicker than nori, and not flaky at all (at least when its in dried sheet form. Most of the kombu I've seen has always been in tiny but long shredded pieces cased in little furikake shakers.) It has a lot stronger "fishy" taste to it too. I just felt like sharing that cause I could 😆😆 this is still a hilariously excellent dish, one that I would totally try just for the fun of it!!
@raowil3 ай бұрын
Yeah it's probably hard to incorporate the combo without cooking it first (maybe making furikake to add to the rice krispies?), but one thing that I thought would make sense is adding some kombu dashi into the white chocolate when tempering. I'm also somewhat of a plain white chocolate hater, so it made particular sense to me.

Three Musketeers candy bar, and Milkyway candy bar are two examples, of nougat without nuts, that I can think of. The Milkyway is basically a Snickers without nuts, and the Three Musketeer leaves out the caramel also, so it's just nougat, without nuts, covered in chocolate. My understanding is that the international version of these use a vanilla nougat, while the U.S. versions uses a chocolate nougat.

@@notahotshot We have Milky Ways aswell but I never thought of the filling as nougat, it's always been simply some airy sticky cream. Though perhaps that's what you mean? I'm really starting to think it's really a cultural thing like how different countries differentiate between what's a cookie vs what's a biscuit or crisps vs chips or what's pudding or something like that. I even looked up the definition of nougat in our (my countries) dictionary. Roughly translated it says: "a mass made out of finely chopped and roasted nuts or almonds, sugar and cocoa (either a confectionary or the filling of one)". Though there is actually a (by us) lesser used white version without cocoa but still with nuts. Oh and our Milky Way bars are without caramel. If you want the Milky Way filling with caramel, you'd have to eat a Mars bar instead.

@@kurokitsune5659 the Mars company (who makes the 3 musketeers bar) describes the filling as a nougat, though a mousse might be more accurate 🙂

@@b.r.5146 I looked this up actually and I really think we just call it by a different name. For example the English Wikipedia site (not the best source I know but it's 9pm where I'm at and I'm to lazy to do throughou research) it clearly states that the Mars filling is nougat but the one in my my language states it's "Candycreme", which is basically sugar cream. So we're both right. It's originally called nougat, my country simply has a different definition of the term so we call by another name. Thank very much for this enlightening conversation.

Glad to see you again, Babish. Hope you enjoyed your holiday. You deserved it. The BCU also made some great content while you were away, too.

I'm honestly surprised you went with Rice Crispy Treats for the crunch part of the candy. I would've assumed that Kelp Candy was inspired by conventional bars like Kit Kat, so making a homemade wafer would've made more sense.
