I dont think the ocean is to strange to them (most land dwelling otters) considering ''otter'' otters live in the ocean.. wich way did he walk when first out of the cage ? towards land or towards the sea (= and as far as I know all otters are semi aquatic, aquatic or marine (= meaning water is alpha and omega to these cuties,they need it to you know, live (= Even ferrets enjoy a playful time when in water. they sort of resembles less agile otters of sorts when in water, salty or non salty waters.

@@no1Liikeglenn--There are a lot of sea otters off the coast of northern California and smooth-coated river otters in northern California rivers. (Bingo is a small clawed Asian otter, which is similar.) Sea otters spend much less time on land than river otters. They're so different from river otters that I doubt that they can even breed with each other. Sea otters don't have hands. 😦

It must smell very interesting to him. If given a chance he might explore one of those air holes in the beach and find a sand flea. He won't eat it but it should be fun to see. You can let the flea go and it will bury itself in the sand again.
