It is funny when you speak to people from a given echo chamber arguing that the numbers are way off and x side is done already and just waiting for the collapse. I remember sitting with an acquittance in Nov 2022 insisting UA is done in a month who then doubled down in Apr 2023 saying that they are completely out of equipment and they are just throwing bodies at Russia. Obviously endless videos on YT saying Russia is done given the primarily western audience. The mainstream loss estimates (which he has drawn from) have enormous error bars which is the valid criticism that they find but then produce literal propaganda numbers as their source of truth and anything else must be propaganda. The irony is delicious.

Everything looks stable until it doesn't, it can happen to both sides because of either some random event or a complicated string of events happening to the society and the economy which cannot be entirely analysed (because of lack of available information etc.) that will make you think at first it's random. And hoping something will happen doesn't mean it will happen.

The fact that Russia rather makes deals with countries like North Korea than mobilize more soldiers says something about how much people Putin can send to the trenches. Also keep in mind that Russia cooks the books when it comes to losses a lot, by for example having complete units of DPR and LPR consist of Russians from Russia but then the losses are counted as LPR or DPR losses, not Russian ones. Not wearing any pink glasses about Ukraine but people really underestimate how hard it is to invade a country that wants nothing to do with you. Most Russians don’t give a f about the war as long as they are left alone. That’s not a great recipe for winning a war. Look at Afghanistan for example…

@user-kq7fh2jy3j9 сағат бұрын
It's because of the demographic distribution. Very few were born in Ukraine in the 90s and early 2000s. Very many of these have also fled the country, as they had the opportunity to do so earlier. Some joined voluntarily early on, and are now dead or disabled. Some are being taken against their will even now, even though they are supposed to be safe. Most likely, if they did lower it to 18, it would not yield all that many more men per month than they are getting currently. It wouldn't change anything on the battlefield, but it would conclusively demonstrate that Ukraine is just about done. In essence, why play your final card if it is not any good? The problem of casualties is that oftentimes people treat it like it's some scoreboard Like this is a game of call of duty Where the Ukrainian military Needs to focus on it's KD stats. I think I enough kills him and somehow get a tactic on nuke. The problem is that casualties don't say much about the current trajectory of the war. For example, the Soviet Union took higher casualties during the winter war but still managed to win. During the American Civil War The Union took more casualties than the Confederacy, and still won. People like to look into. casualties to think that eventually one side will just run out of men. But that's not how it necessarily happens in wars of attrition What's more likely to happen is one side loses hope of victory and therefore morale begins to Plummet leading to a collapse of the of the military. In World War One, the Germans never actually ran out of manpower They just lost the will to continue fighting.

Apart from the uncertainty regarding the number of losses, I think the analysis needs to include material to make sense going forwards. If you can't produce equipment for those future troops, they won't be very effective. Russia has been relying heavily on their old Soviet stockpiles, and they're losing them much faster than what they can't produce entirely new. For Ukraine's part there's a corresponding question of how much material support can be provided by and in cooperation with other nations. I suspect the material question will be more important than the demographic one.

For Ukraine it doesn't have a large enough population to sustain ideal military numbers for years to come, but at the same time Russia has too many people to try to keep in line without breaking apart. It should not be forgotten how the Russian military desperately relies on contractors to prevent having to send in conscripts that do not want to fight and perform abysmally, which on the flipside the contractors are largely poverty stricken individuals or criminals only trying to earn a meager salary/basic freedom. The reliance on these contractors have either been mixed or nearly backfired entirely when Prigozhin marched on Moscow and almost no one stood up to him to protect Putin. It cannot be understated just how overrated the Russian military is and has been for years, nor how fake Russian patriotism truly is. Russia's initial failure to take Kyiv has done nothing but kick the country in a downward spiral, gambling on Ukraine "running out of men" is an extremely high risk that even if "successful" will not save the government in the long term. Ignore that first guy commenting but honestly yeah why don't both "bots" pick up their weapons and fight? Stop calling other people the word "bots" when they are literally the basic definition of a human, it's disrespectful, and it's disgusting. Both sides have their own views on this conflict but that doesn't mean you or others could easily call the other party "Bots" simply because they share a different view.

Drafting troops only makes sense when you have the modern weapons and vehicles to arm them. As we have seen from the Russian side, infantry without adequate armor and training stands no chance in modern warfare.

Not a difficult question if you ask Ukrainian frontline soldiers they will all say there are experiencing large shortage of infantry soldiers hence the russian steady advances. The problem with Ukrainian casualties numbers is they might list 40K as killed but there's also hundreds of thousands of MIA, captured and deserted soldiers. And the comming replacements aren't volunteers and they need to be sent urgently to frontlines which often leeds to insufficient training and higher than needed losses among such troops.

Why that wouldn't work: 1. No security garanties, like actual garanties and not some contracts that are not worth the paper thay are written on like budapesht memorandum 2. Russia will not agree becouse, even considering how brainwashed their citisens are, i don't think even russians themselfs will think about their choices when thay go from "Kyiv in 3 days" to not even ocuping donezk oblast fully, which makes putin scared that he might lose power, so he will just continue to throw the meet to their deaths

Volunteers? A friend of mine, he is Dagestani, his younger brother was told that he has to do his voluntary military service and he was sent to the Ukraine. Of course Russia wouldn't do that with ETHNIC RUSSIANS, but yes, almost half of these volunteers are not volunteers, especially if they belong to a minority. Ah before I forget to mention it, he was sent to ukraine and shredded by artillery within 2 days. send them. He died at the age of 19.

Not the first time I see Blinkov performing analysis almost entirely without first or second level of sources, apart news articles, which are the third level of source, thus already distorted by the journalists, and are often written by the said journalists after reading someone else’s article or blatantly coming up with some shit without really knowing the topic. Moreover, it’s happening during the war where Russia is winning the information frontline, but for some reason people keep forgetting it and keep analyzing all information without needed grains of salt.

There’s some indication that Ukrainian official figures are consistently underreporting by about 1/3. Comparing the most recent official figure by the Ukrainian government of some 43.000 KIA to the numbers provided by UA losses, this lines up pretty well. That means slightly more than 60k Ukrainian KIA. Plus civilian casualties.

If we gona talk like this we have to mention that the reasurches only include recorded casulties, which, considering that most of the mobilised russians are from poor regions and might not have access to even basic things like a toylet inside the house or gas, not even talking about the internet and social media. We also knoew that russia will just leave their trups lieing without actually reporting the death, might burn the body or just don't report the death and say the person "went missin" and, lets be real, we also need to consider that a lot of tham are so brainwashed thay wouldn't even think about talking about all this and especially when thay live in the country where you can get yourself into jail for calling this a war or protesting against the regime. We should consider that actual russian reported deaths would be way, way lower than the actual number

North Koreans are not fighting for Russia, that is just western propaganda. North Koreans are however doing something... What is not really clear. North Koreans are the best in the world at building bunkers. They are this way because of what the USA did to the North Koreans. So the North Koreans are probably getting Russia read to survive a civilization ending nuclear war. North Koreans go and train all of the enemies of the USA, not just Russia, they train Iran, Gaza, etc.
