I think the Daily Wire made a grave miscalculation. They think that her audience is going to be loyal to them. What boggles my mind, as an “older” zoomer (1997), is that TDW seemed to think BC’s audience would be on board with them replacing Brett with Reagan. Or, at least, they thought the same amount of people would continue to watch. TDW has talked so much about younger generations choosing personalities over networks (which you can see more and more over the past few years). Yet they decided to replace one of their hosts, expecting the audience to go along with it. I understand it worked for the daily show and the tonight show, but audiences have changed drastically since the advent of the internet. To be fair, I understand TCS could’ve been created with that format in mind (the show being passed down from host to host)… but still, why would you choose that format if your goal is to appeal to Gen Z viewers, when you yourself claim that zoomers don’t follow networks, but personalities??

From what I understand, Brett actually had a hand in the concept for the show… so regardless of DW owning the IP, the show just will not work at the same level as it would with the person who helped create it. They should’ve looked outside of the current employees for someone who brought similar characteristics to Brett naturally (which may seem odd anyway) or just changed the format of the show to match the hosts style. Since they didn’t do any of that, this feels like a rushed move, like they needed to fill the role before a deadline that they weren’t expecting… which to me implies that there were issues when it came to renegotiating Brett’s contract. DW decided to cheap out on filling the role or show properly by staying in-house, or there were other motivations that we simply don’t know about. I’m not worried about Brett’s success, she is an incredible woman and very bright, and I was honestly wondering when she would add a new project to her portfolio… I just didn’t think she’d have to leave DW to do it

That's the fastest I've ever clicked on one of Sydney's videos. I (stupidly) didn't think of the possibility of her covering this story. Personally, I think Brett's departure from the Comments Section could've been done so much better than how it actually was. I thought the transition to the new permanent host was too sudden/abrupt, and although I tried to give Reagan a chance, the dodgy circumstances surrounding Brett's departure mean that I'm just about ready to give up on TCS. It was the only DW content I considered worth watching. I wish Brett the best of luck moving forward!

I've seen this pattern before. My Boss let me go after 10 years because I dared to question his methods.. A few months later he fired a coworker that was also his Brother in Law. A while later he fired another. some time later another. Now I heard the LAST person of the original crew has also left. I don't think there's a company anymore. There has been some random videos done on the expected type of contract it would've been. Basically, it would've been very similar to the standard for these types of things. The org takes a huge portion of any profit, they also "own" the show, and anything you build on the show (like advertisements etc). They also hold the content of any social media apps you use for the show. Basically, they control your life on anything regarding the show they give you, and also compel you legally to not say anything afterwards. They're just very predatory contracts, been around for a long time.
