Been using mobile broadband for about 4-5 years now and don't think I'd ever go back. I get around 35-55mbps and even this speed allows myself and another to play separate online games with around 40 ping and the woman watching youtube at 720p. I like the portability more than I thought I would, it's so handy being able to take router anywhere you're staying and have home wifi. I've also moved 2 times since getting the mobile broadband and it used to be such a song a dance with new home contracts and being without home wifi for 2-4 weeks for them to come set it up. Now, just test speed at each window in new house and leave it at the best speed location, BOOM, you have wifi again after 10 mins. That was the game changer for me since I rent and move every few years

Could you tell us what router brand and model are you using old? Do you use an antenna?
@zday40k Жыл бұрын
@@neosir01 I have 2 different ones that I used, I bought an archer tp link 600 that was 4g+ and recently my provider offered me a free update to Huawei b535_2577. I really couldn't say 1 is better than the other so my recommendation would be go with whatever one you find cheaper as they both provided about the same download speed and they both came with external screw on antenna. They don't work at all if you screw 1 antenna on incorrectly I found out after a lot of head scratching why there was no signal 😂

just bought one of these in Kettering UK and im getting 67mbps download speed and 6mbps upload. plenty for streaming in 4k, gaming and everything else. still haven't added the external aerial yet. its on the Smarty network which is 3. struggling to find a range extender for downstairs. will wait and see what improvement the aerial brings first.

Just bought the Huawei b535 today from carbootsale for 5£ and inside the flat where I live in Dundee I get full coverage with 4g+ (I use VOXI)where with none of the phones(some android and some apple) i don't get 4g+ most of the times the phones stay on 3g so very Happy with the B535
@stephencresswell476028 күн бұрын
You need to fit the 2x aerials! And then try it in different positions. Upstairs at a window will be best. 4G where I am is pants but I get 30-50mbps.
@amcadam263 жыл бұрын
I get 50mb download and 15mb upload with 3 where I live. Very tempting to switch from Virgin Media to 4G home broadband. Currently paying £48 a month on Virgin, I barely use the phone, mainly watch freeview TV channels and use a FireTV stick for Netflix and Prime Video.

Fibre is available where I live - but waaaayyyyy too expensive for my data needs. So i've settled on Fixed LTE with the H525 router. I was quite contented with 20Mbps down and about 7 up. Until I had to change the same at another house. There it was dismal so I installed an external MIMO directional antenna pointed at the tower using a MR600 router. Speeds of >100Mbps down and around 40Mbps up are regularly seen with an average around 60Mbps down. I've installed another external antenna at the work space and am seeing 60Mbps down and 43Mbps up on a regular basis.

I got the B535 router with unlimited data on three since 2019, and I find holding my iPhone and router side by side (both with the same network) I get better speeds on my phone than the router. I back this up with the older version or the Heuwei router I got in 2018 which came with 40GB of data and the speed tests got 35mbps which now average 1-15mbps depending on the time. Id like to try an external antenna to see if it helps but I suspect the speeds are more to do with the network load balancing the demand vs speed which may hit the unlimited plans more than the signal strength. For the price it’s still decent though
@brentsummers73772 жыл бұрын
Similar to my experience. I live very close to a tower & the network is a little congested, but if I do a speed test at say 4.30am I get crazy fast speeds on my iphone 7, fastest was 207 Mbps while the fastest test ever with a Huawei B315 was about 89 Mbps, in round figures about double.

That will be perfect here in our country we have a unlimited data offer about £10 per month and our LTE here can reach up to 300 Mbps down and 50 to 60Mbps up.

Using Ghostbusters 2016 for testing 4k streaming is the only good use for that film. Although you did say it was like a cheap knock off copy so maybe you agree?

Can only dream about getting that 300 mbps download, no chance..... Love to cancel Virgin 135 mpbs connection they keep putting prices up all the time, be paying £60+ per month from april 2024.

You won't get 4K streaming with those download specs - the channels will be dropping the resolution to match the poor line speed.

You are an entertaining fun person to watch but dont beat yourself with that connection, 1Mb in 2021/2022 is absolutely savage, you need roughly 5Mb-Mb to stream 1080p You are genuinely better off with ADSL2 or what they call essential 'fibre' in most companies now aka copper wire to the green box that then has a fibre relay.
So. 6 minutes of waffle and repetition before even getting it out of the box. Stopped watching there because I've seen these time-wasting, revenue-harnessing things before. Find a decent review with a bit of technical weight and get twice the value for half the time! Or less!

I use the latest 4g plus 3 network routter, I get around 150 to 200 mps and I pay 15 quid a month, fuck fiber I paid nearly 50 quid for fiber and getting nearly the same, I say if you are in a city or in a good 4g or 5g signal zone go for it,but if you are in a village or low reception zone then is not good for you. I couldnt be happier, I save 35 quid every month towards my holidays,
@puzzlemagnet19572 жыл бұрын
by the way tha routter device is really old and outdated, 3 network no longer uses that routter,
