Nu metal fans are the juggalos of metal. Nobody in the real rap world respects juggalos and no one in the real metal world respects nu metal fans. "Nu metal" reminds me of the salt substitute "Nu Salt" right down to the spelling and the fact that nu metal's is a substitute for actual metal for non-metal people the same way "Nu Salt" was a substitute for actual salt. Nu metal is better described as mallcore or alt-core/grunge-core, since it evolved out of the alternative rock and grunge music scenes of the early '90s which were trendy at the time, not to mention alternative metal like Faith No More.

@@WormyFantomFanatical nah, Korn's "nu metal" evolved from alt rock, grunge, funk metal and Prong's metallized hardcore-cum-groove-metal swagger riffs in addition to some Nine Inch Nails influence, Korn didn't evolve in a vacuum lol. In fact Jonathan Davis didn't like Korn being referred to as "metal" because due to Korn's eclectic-y nature he thought they were more than that and that they were unclassifiable genre-wise. A number of bands was being eclectic (drawing from diverse genres starting from the early-mid '90s because it was part of the ,musical zeitgeist for people that listened to multiple music genres, I know I was around and back then and witnessed it in other cases in person and participated in it to some extent myself, but not in a grunge/alt rock/rap/industrial manner hahaha

@@WormyFantomFanatical well, nu metal in general was influenced by the alternative metal band Faith No More , which had Mike Patton in it who was also in the avant garde/funk metal band Mr Bungle. Korn in general were influenced more by fusion genres like alternative metal, funk metal/Prong and various genres of alternative rock than they were actual metal per se, which is why by the time they started creating "nu metal", that style was even more alternative rock than it was metal, they really only retained the heavy guitar sound. Hence it was more just heavy alt-rock/grunge that had groove metal with a hardcore base as the backbone of the style, which makes Korn "metal" only in a very tangential sense.

I go to all these festivals i see everything from black thrash death metal tons of bands live every year and iron maiden destroys them all live in thier late 60s. They also got thier line up from piece of mind and the first album most these bands we see now are a revolving door or cover bands
