I bought about a kilo of thermoplastic beads (sold as polycaprolactone) a few years ago. I never got to use them until fairly recently and they don't seem to work as advertised. In hot water they still go clear, but they seem to flow into the water, becoming a runny liquid. When they form back into an opaque solid, they are crumbly and break up into more granulated, waxy residue. In fact, the resemblance to candle wax is almost identical. So, my question is, did my PCL go off and will no longer hold a form like a modelling thermoplastic? Or, am I sucker who was sold a couple of bags of paraffin wax instead of actual PCL?

So next question, can you get Vegan PCL? I'm not Vegan but I know there's potential interest in the festival world for these and many people in the industry are vegan.
