If I could make any vessel a time machine I think I'd go for an aircraft carrier. Or maybe a battleship. And just plop myself down in the Caribbean during the golden age. Load up on gold and boom back to now. Probably a modern speed boat with a machine gun would do the trick but a couple f22 or f35 or helicopters along with a floating city would be pretty cool.
