Even though I am not an American and was born many years after Bobby Kennedy's assassination, I cannot help but mourn for the life of this man. I was always fascinated by the Kennedy legacy and was inspired by the words and actions of Bobby in particular. My father, who grew up during the time of "Camelot" always said that "John F. Kennedy was a great president, but Bobby was the better human being." Bobby, of course, had his flaws, as any human being does, but I think he represented the best of us and always gave hope for what was possible. What I think is the most admirable part of RFK was although he was raised in privilege, he wasn't blinded by his advantages in life and became one of the true champions of the poor, the disinherited and disenfranchised. Perhaps it was "the runt" status he had in his family that made him so passionate to fight for the underdog. To see footage of him visiting an inner city neighbourhood and asking a boy if he'd had lunch yet and seeing the look of anguish on Bobby's face as he touched the boy's cheek when the boy answered, "No" just tears at my gut every time. And to hear his call for unity during his Indianapolis speech on the night of MLK's death was so poignant and unforgettable. He told the crowd that he understood their mistrust of white people but to not succumb to anger and that he too, had one of his "family members" killed by a white man. Now, he reasoned, they must all remember what MLK stood for and continue to work towards peace and for a better country. That night, he helped to quell a potential riot. THAT was the stuff of a true leader. They don't make em' like that anymore. For those interested, there is a documentary made a few years back called, "Ethel" by Rory Kennedy, the daughter of Bobby and Ethel Kennedy . Through interviews with Ethel Kennedy and her children, it's a very interesting, sometimes humorous and candid look at both Bobby, Ethel and the life they shared together. I admire Jackie Kennedy, but I think Ethel is often overlooked. Ethel is a truly amazing woman in her own right: intelligent, humble, spunky and so SO resilient. To not only witness her husband's death, give birth to their daughter months later and be left to raise 11 children on her own and to come out of it all without harbouring bitterness or resentment...she is just as exceptional as her husband was IMO. You can view this documentary on KZbin.

@@generalfred9426 What RFK said in public was not the same that he said in private. RFK and Jackie sent a trusted friend to tell Krushchev - in person - they knew it was the US right wing militarists that killed JFK. What stopped him from launching his own investigation is he was no longer attorney general. As he said in private, only the powers of the Presidency would allow him to do a real investigation. RFK's close allies support Talbot's documentation and don't have epithets to describe his work. Several of them have called on Congress to reopen the investigations of RFK, JFK, MLK and Malcolm X's assassinations. It doesn't matter what some random anonymous post on youtube thinks about this -- Allen Dulles understood Bobby knew what happened, that matters far more.

I hear ya, mate. If you can't support Biographics financially, then I have some good news for you. There are other things you can still do to help the channel and you've already done at least 1 of them. 1. Watch the whole video. 2. Comment (this is the one which you have obviously already done!) 3. Click 'Like' on their video. 4. Subscribe (which includes 'hit the bell' nowadays). 5. Share on social media. As I understand it, every single thing on that list helps the channel. Every little bit helps, and it's a great way to repay them for their efforts if you have no other realistic options. Just wanted to add: That's pretty hypocritical of me because I don't do social media (because I think it's creepy af, I'm sure you get that), but if you're on social media then I implore you to use it to sometimes share any Biographics videos you've really enjoyed. My husband was there at the Ambassador Motel that night working for Kennedy's campaign. Like lots of people, Bobby's assassination irreparably broke my husband's heart. To this day he can't talk about the assassination without being very drunk and sobbing. Not just ugly crying, it's ugly sobbing. Our friends know not to talk about it.😢

Except we don't know that. Congress would have still been the same, would they have blocked him? Would he caved to political pressure and backed down a bit? We can speculate, but we can never be sure things would be different.

Or maybe the script writers are the culprits. Either way, once I caught on to this, I can't stop noticing it. "Simon, he likes history" "Simon likes history"
