Primary oocyte is a cell that is arrested in prophase 1 of M1, primordial follicle is: primary cell+follicular cells that surround the primary oocyte

Great explanation. I only have one question: Multiple other resources I have come upon say that by time of birth there are around 1-2 million eggs while 400,000 at puberty. You said by time of birth there is 400,000 and about 40,000 at puberty. So I am just confused.
