When it comes to the history of the universe, many believe that science and faith are mutually exclusive. In this six-session video companion to their book Origins, professors Deborah and Loren Haarsma explore what God’s Word and God’s world teach us about creation, evolution, and human origins.
Designed especially for small groups and discussion groups, these videos and accompanying study guide help participants reflect on the important issues raised in Origins and gain perspective on the ongoing conflict between Christians over how the universe began.
These films were made possible through the support of a grant from the Evolution and Christian Faith program by BioLogos. Learn more about BioLogos at biologos.org.

It is wonderful to see Christians being honest about our beginnings.

Thank you for this video♥️ I really think spreading the word about theistic evolution would change the trajectory of the Christian world in a positive way.

2:19 Microevolution is the genetic variation within each species and has been within that species ever since it was created.

Sonicfan 100 you haven't really studied the subject then, if you think this is the best video about evolution. I doubt either of these folks have advanced degrees in the topic even if they do this is mixing religion and science in a bid to stay relevant.

6:09 In order for an animal to evolve the sequence of nucleotide bases in the genome would have to change. However, randomly changing the nucleotide base sequence will simply destroy the instructions for creating that animal from a zygote. Randomly changing the nucleotide base sequence won't cause some kind of evolution towards a new and different animal. Doing that will only cause disorder, deformities and death. The animal would become extinct because of nonviable nucleotide base sequences long before reaching a viable nucleotide base sequence that creates a new and different animal.

7:38 Genomic similarities between humans can be used to indicate relatedness between people because of the fact that genetic information is passed down from parents to offspring. However, genetic information is not being passed between species. Therefore genomic similarities between species doesn't indicate relatedness and DNA can't be used to determine that species are related to each other.

Nice video. Evolution is a fact. I have to say I agree with Scenario 3 in the begining. When I was a kid I was taught about evolution and God. Yes, I pictured God creating everything through a miracle, but evolution to me explains how God really did it. All living things from plants, animals, fungi, microbes, etc. all have the 4 base pairs in their DNA. This links them to being all descended from a common ancestor. This ancestor is known as LUCA.

How do you know? Or, better question, how would someone go about determining what is actually acurate?

How do we know that? How do we know the soul is immortal? All concepts of religion, God, the afterlife, the soul, etc. are made by people. It is possible that God made people with mortal souls.
