I really like this series. I believe that science and religion can coexist peacefully. In my religious view on science, I view science as a tool to understanding how God works.

Despite being an absolute atheist, I really respect the work you guys do to show that the wonder of science is not incompatible with a belief in a God. You help to elevate the debate from inane nonsense like "if we evolved from monkeys then why are there still monkeys?" to something much more interesting and enriching. I hope your videos manage to convince lots of young-Earth creationists that there is a more intelligent way to engage with their faith. That said, I do think you're playing a slightly brave/dangerous game. If you're perfectly happy to accept that the laws of physics & chemistry can give rise to life spontaneously, and that evolution by natural selection accounts for the diversity we see today, then you are somewhat eroding the need for any kind of 'God' to explain the universe. Only the universes which *did* form stars are able to host intelligent beings capable of contemplating their own existence, so it's really no surprise at all that we live in a universe which is well tuned for life.

This couple likely know that the concept of God is a metaphysical concept, rather than a being among other beings that the eyes of science can see. 'God ' is the solution to the metaphysical problem of contingency, the only solution I could ever discover, which is why I came to be a believer after many years.

Open our heart to the truth. The universe could not be self-creating. Only a Creator could create it.
