Ma'am, I need one clarification. Binomial system of naming was started by Carl Linnaeus, right? In that we use genus and species names. Before developing proper five kingdoms, were genus and species names were given to the organisms?!

Hi Rishi, don't worry I will explain it. In the NEET 2018 question paper catalogue is defined as a list that enumerates methodically all the species found in an area with brief description aiding identification. Now let me put this in simple words. A catalogue is simply a list of all organisms (plants and animals) of a particular area. Catalogues are organized mostly in alphabetical order so that it is easy to find about the information of a particular organism. Catalogues are used as taxonomical aids. I hope it is clear now :).
