Hey Guys, very nice video. Me and my girlfriend enjoy it very much. Only we have one question we can't figure quite out. Why is he constantly pointing at things, is it for self confirmation the he checked something?

This is called pointing and calling, and is mainly used to check signals and instruments.
I am puzzled as to why the driver lifts his hand & seems to point forward. It seems he wishes to make sure he is on the correct schedule. Now what the driver does really confuses me

Drivers make every effort to catch up with safety as a top priority, keeping the speed set for traffic signals and sections.

大阪発だとホント長時間ですよね。国鉄時代によく大阪駅で381系の写真を撮ってました。

Haven't been able to pick up all the reasons JR drivers point. Kintetsu drivers a far less animated

it's normal? the delay is normal in japan? 24 mins ,its a express train.
@ys-train3 жыл бұрын
Of course there is a delay, but it is usually only a few tens of seconds to a few minutes. If there is a problem, the train will be delayed longer, and in some cases, it may even be cancelled. In this case, there was an abnormal signal at a railroad crossing, so the delay was due to safety checks.
Train delays due to force majeure are unavoidable. However, you can see in the video that the driver is doing his best within the speed limit to make up for the delay.

@@ys-train thanks for answering so quickly. I didn't jump ahead in order to see what the reason might have been. Nothing obvious.

Not all Japanese trains are fast

@@ys-train Yeah I know some are slow but as a rule they are pretty quick.

This train is the fastest of many limited express trains in Japan. Fast speeds have been achieved with the efforts of many people involved in railways. But the most important thing is to operate safely, not speed.
