Absolutely not. If I did go, I'd go with a huge group of people I trust. Like I'm talking ten to twelve people, and we have a buddy system, everyone watches each other's backs, regular head counts, everyone has to carry some sort of weapon just in case.

that last story reminded me about this one time when i was at my grandparents house. they lived in the middle of the woods on a river bank and we were chillin after dinner on the porch and it was dark out and we just hear like a man screaming? it went on for like 20 minutes and my grandma’s then husband and his brother went out into the woods and called the cops to help them find this dude screaming in the woods at night. they ended up finding him eventually and turns out he just went camping and got lost but yeah very spooky

Maybe those kids thought that they saw a bear and panicked. Also, a bear rearing up on two legs could look like a gorilla to a child, they could have seen a bear that wasn't really interested in eating them, so didn't try very hard to catch them. Either way, it's that they were found ok. Often, these stories have a tragic end. Watch you kids people, they can wonder out of your sight and find trouble within minutes

I would never hike or camp alone unless it was a like 30 minute hike on the edge of town or something. But if I was out in the wilderness and thought I was being followed, I'd probably try to find somethign I can separate their line of sight (which I would have to guess) so I could sneak off the trail (DANGEROUS YES) but only so that I could try and sneak up behind them, and attack them. Which sounds horrible and stupid, but it's an option, sometimes you have to try and get the drop on someone when they're after you. Alternatively depending on where you're located, maybe you could find some kind of sild predator to get near, ALSO very dangerous and stupid, but it should deter the creep who is hunting you, or if not, you have a 50% chance of gettting this predatory animal to attack the stalker while you take the chance to escape. Not the best odds but I mean, what else could you do in that situation, if you can't get them off your tail and can't get help. Also yoou should at least have a nice big knife on you, for utility and defense, if you're going to be out doing that stuff in the wilderness.
