Hyenas being more closely related to felines (they're actually their own order, Hyaenidae) doesn't really mean anything. Pip would be mauled because they are hyenas and Pip is a small domestic dog more than 10x smaller than they are.

LMFAO, I remember this movie! My little brother and I found it online to watch at our Grandma's house when we were little. We chose it because it looked laughably bad and we just kind of wanted to watch the train wreck play out, you know? (We also ended up going over out data limit for the internet card our mom had given us that summer because we didn't know streaming would use up so much. Imagine getting charged a surplus fee over THIS movie. I'm so sorry, mom-) Anyway, we were cracking jokes the whole time and laughing at the horrible animation, awkward pacing, basic dialogue, and yet we both STILL cried at the fucking end. It's one of my deepest, darkest secrets and you can enjoy it for free.

I went too in-depth with the statement “he befriended two hyenas because he thought they were dogs”. here’s your biology lesson of the day. turns out hyena’s are more closely related to cats genetic/evolution wise than dogs, even though they exhibit similar behaviour to other wild dogs. hyena’s are in the suborder Feliformia (cat like carnivores) of the order Carnivora (carnivorous mammals). loved the video but I will now but up all night thinking about this🙃

Yo, watch Space Dogs 2 on youtube. It's a Russian animated movie based on Lyka the dog. The same studio produced this one here. The movie is dog schmit and i guarantee you won't understand a thing even though it's English dubbed. i actually worked on it as a prop artist. Creating it was fun though.
