amazing updates to a rough old camper. well done. I'd like to put together something similar using the big portable EcoflowPro I used as backup power to my house. Seems smart to eliminate all the old propane based kitchen, even eliminate the camper's breaker panel, with an all in one lithium generator like that. I learned a lot for this series like the Dometic fridge and the kind of vulnerable wood structure in these campers too. Might consider a FourWheel Grandby shell to build out my 8ft Tundra.

You finally made it to the end! Congrats on getting there, now comes the fun part. I'm super jealous of your time parked at the beach! Knowing now how much work it was, would you still recommend the cheaper camper and going DIY? Or would you more go with buying new?
@BackcountryBanter3 жыл бұрын
Woohoo! Knowing how much they cost new I would still go cheaper and DIY it. Despite it taking so long Tara and I both thoroughly enjoyed the process too. Now that we’re on the road I also feel less stress about taking the camper places like the beach and rugged roads where it might see wear and tear. And we know how to fix it if something does happen!

instead of drilling a 3/4 or 1 inch hole.. to pass a cigarette lighter plug through. Cut it off, drill a 1/4 inch hole.. install a grommet in that.. feed the wire through, and either wire to a terminal strip, or attach a re-usuable plug to the wire. the reasons and advantages should be obvious. same for diesel heater ! and that exhaust passing right through the plastic bed liner.. fire and smoke aint no joke.

Excellent. Really impressive. One thing bugs me. Why install a kitchen sink so close to the end wall? All you’re doing is creating a inaccessible narrow groove where moisture, grime and gunk will gather...
@BackcountryBanter3 жыл бұрын
We had to move it away from the edge a bit to account for the structure underneath. At the same time out goal was to maximize counter space so we wanted it as close to the wall as possible. We siliconed in between so it doesn’t hold moisture and cleans up easily.
