so i missed this session where we were supposed to do all the staining techniques; thank you so much for taking the time to upload these simple and understandable videos. wish you were my professor for microbiology, mine is so scary and the lab reports they give are always so vague (in a test to prove our comprehension as college students...i guess). it's pretty discouraging because they usually give us this look like we're too stupid to understand the laboratory manual; most of the time our class messes up one way or another, we take too long in the experiment, or we flail around looking for someone who actually knows WHAT to do haha. again, thanks for the video!

why not decolorising ? if there's an endospore, shouldn't it resist the decolorizer?

nice vid, I have to do an endospore stain my college lab has safranin for the gram stain but doesn't have malachite green, does any body know if I buy it in a pet store how much do i need to dilute it if any???? until i can use it for the stain

endospore does not decolorise...just the cytoplasm decolorises and is counter stained by safranin...

And one more thing do u know the difference between malachite green and malachite green oxalate??? Fast answers would really help me thanks !!!!!!

Yes, heat fix your smear before adding the primary stain.
