Sora turning into an alchemist full metal hearts style, basically creates things that might be simple to create:- small roads,bridges walls etc. or it could be a different summon like Bahamut or gigas

In defense of Formchanges, I think that's why it's an option to switch between keyblades, storing forms for maximum use. As for Build, I think it'll be inspired by Yozora's steal and replication mechanic. Numbered game gimmicks are foreshadowed by previous entries. Dual wielding was foreshadowed by KH1's secret ending, and keyblade transformations were foreshadowed by the Lingering Will. Because of this, I thought KH4 would take from Mickey's Keyblade fusion, but I guess I was wrong. On the note of the energy drill, I think that's an evolution of keyblade transformations. Sora doesn't need any specific keychain to use keyblade transformations anymore, which is why Drill Punch's animation is reused. Sora is using that Formchange on the Kingdom Key.

Building would be an interesting mechanic in KH4. Especially considering how creative the community is in other games.

I feel like the Build system is going to be based more on the types of attacks we’ve seen Yozora use in his boss battle. Traditionally the secret boss fights tend to tease what future mechanics might be in later titles, so a system where Sora is able to generate unique constructs might be what’s being teased at here.

I love this idea! It would be so cool to switch between “jobs” in a KH game. But in one of the first interviews on KH4, Nomura referred to it as “scrap and build” and that it would involved destruction and reconstruction. Hopefully, we can still get drive forms or formchanges as well.

I think “building” the weapon Sora would use to go into a job would be cool! I thought I mentioned that in the video but I probably didn’t xD

no clue about this but... is the japanese word in the menu that we translate into "build" even used to describe "builds" as we do in games? If it isn't used in that context, and just means "creating something" it would kinda undermine this whole video :p as i said, idk if it is or isn't used in that way, I'm just curious if it is

For some reason I never thought of "build" in that way within regards to Kingdom Hearts but it makes TOTAL sense. I really hope we see something like where Sora becomes a Paladin or Dark Knight etc like in FF games

So Build will be similar in a way to the Styles in DMC, and/or the Dressspheres from Final Fantasy X-2; that's just my thoughts. Just imagine if Sora would yell out the build form name when transforming, then switches his combat style to perform both slick combos whether it's melee or ranged. I really hope my thoughts are true cuz this is a hypothesis and something that has yet to be confirmed by the developers at Square Enix.

Here’s a world idea for Kingdom Hearts 4 Earth: 2805 (Wall E) In this world, sora, Donald and goofy could meet Wall E and Eva, in gameplay, Eva can shoot the heartless with her arm cannon and one cutscene, wall and Eva tell the 3 about how earth was turned into a nature less wasteland in 2105.

So what I’m gathering here is that the ‘build’ command is the next evolution of the drive command from kh2 essentially because we go into specific build strength or magic etc. kh3 did to an extent encourage different builds with keyblade switching though which I think most players liked, just as long as the builds they offer are all viable and fun to use and they’re not just bland gimmicks akin to mini game combat or anything like that I wanna see what it brings.

I honestly would like it way more if the build system was a more in-depth form system that focuses on different hobs like you suggested. I kinda don't want to be a green lantern in Kingdom Hearts making constructs all the time, but that's just me

"Nothing you can do except attack as much as possible until you go back to base form" If this were BBS or KH2 I'd agree, the cool thing about KH3's drives is you can pocket them by switching keyblades mid form to extend their use if you want to. I don't think most battles in the game last long enough for it (maybe late game or DLC bosses) but you build 2 or 3 of them up to their finisher, and just unload them all when you need to. That's the strategic potential I saw with them anyway. Also I gotta disagree that while I liked the system in 358 no way I think keyblades with fixed attack patterns are more strategic than equipping abilities that determine how you attack. The different weapon types like the Claws, Hammer, Shield, Staff were cool ideas but yeah you're right you don't really get to use them long enough. And I don't think people want to see Sora use things other than keyblades :/

Doubt this'll get read since the video is a year old, but I always thought by "build" it meant "construct." Like, in KH2, Sora just got a second keyblade. In KH3, Sora transformed them into different weapons. What if in KH4, Sora could somehow build new weapons or devices?

The formchanges in KH3 low key sucked. Way too short duration. And storing forms was annoying. I just want to be able to make use of the formchanges and have fun doing it. But most of them sucked really badly. And the ones that were actually super good had a stop and go feel to them do to their short duration relatively quick activation nature.
