No chance to do anything, I literally gel right into the jaws of this thing...the animation starts pretty much when I am already dead.

I just want to be able to hear a fiend when it's behind me. I mean, it probably weighs 10 tons and I don't hear it's foot steeps until a half a second before it grabs me. Honestly a bigger problem is that an Ascendant can use it's teleport move to instantly get next to you, and then without any sort of cool down use it's instant kill move. That is much more broken than fiends.

Exactly... I've never been killed by fiends, but the teleporting attack+instant kill is extremely annoying.

Not saying Ascendants aren't their own special brand of bullshit but the difference is if you're on the ball you can escape an Ascendant's sync kill move (there's like a window of opportunity when the red fire ball forms where you can evade out of it). Fiends are just rubbish because they can grab you through solid objects.

I'm talking about an Ascendant blinking right on top of you, and in less than a second they insta kill you. It's one thing if the Ascendant starts to cast the ball and you can move away, but this is an entirely different move. It's happened to me several times.

yeah, not really, I have definitely dodged as soon as the orb appeared, or been in the middle of a dodge when the orb appeared even, but because of sync, i'm rubberbanded back into the orb and insta-gibbed. I had one time where I didn't even know he had spawned, I was near a wall, he tele'd through the wall to me, i dodged away as soon as i saw him appear, orb forms in the middle of my dodge and I get dragged back in for the kill. Went from not even knowing there was a sync kill enemy on the map to dead in less than a second. Ascendants are silly...they really are. If 3/4 of the players in a match weren't off host, that would be okay, but having a fraction of a second to respond just doesn't work when there is a larger delay in play. Right now I just stay away from them, but i hate to limit my options. Frankly I could do without ALL of the sync kills, I thought they were stupid and unnecessary in ME3 and if anything, it's only gotten worse here. There is a reason everyone played against geth in ME3...just sayin.

sounds like the same problem I had in 3 where the banshees can just instakill you by touching you.

I'd honestly settle for them having far more accurate audio cues.. and also them not snatching me throw walls, floors and in general, 10ft+ away from them when off-host.

Yeah I got grabbed when on a roof by one I couldn't even see in the room below me. Cost us the perfect extraction too.

Yeah you're helpless as a solo player. If there was teammates they could distract or revive when threat is dead/gone but yeah not much anyone can do.
