@MVMK33 4 жыл бұрын
Georgia Borderline personality disorder is a mental health disorder that impacts the way you think and feel about yourself and others, causing problems functioning in everyday life. It includes self-image issues, difficulty managing emotions and behavior, and a pattern of unstable relationships

1. In bipolar disorder, you have what's called a 'baseline personality'. Your values, beliefs, likes and dislikes, etc. are fairly constant, even though the moods affect your level of confidence and sociability. (You might not feel like you know who you are with the dissociation but if you look into it, it will be consistent.) - With borderline personality disorder, you have a very unstable sense of identity. What you enjoy, your beliefs, even your sexuality in extreme cases can change from day to day. There is no baseline as such. - 2. In bipolar disorder, mood episodes tend to last at least a few days and can be up to a few weeks or even months. There is little to no change in your mood throughout. - With borderline personality disorder, moods can change day to day or even hour to hour. The frequency of mood shift is much greater. It is possible that this can be rapid cycling bipolar, however this is not too common. - 3. In bipolar disorder, there is no fear of abandonment or black and white thinking (or these are not part of the diagnosis). - With borderline personality disorder, fear of abandonment and black and white thinking are common. Fear of abandonment (which can be argued is a root cause of borderline personality disorder) leads to extreme avoidance of any real or perceived abandonment, to the point that being alone will make the person feel like they don't exist, they will get incredibly clingy, and they might even create drama so that people will come to help them, just so they don't have to be alone. - Black and white thinking/idealising people and things is seeing something or someone as either all good or all bad, with no nuance or pros and cons list. A person or thing is seen by the person as being completely perfect and can do no wrong, until the point where there is even a slight mistake made or a small problem. Then that person or thing suddenly becomes the worst in the world. - Hope this helps give you some idea of the main differences.

Girls in my school keep on telling other people they have depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder and people need to worry about their condition. These illnesses are a serious matter and I hate the fact that they didn't take it seriously. There are other people in the world that actually have mental illness and they are the ones that really need help. Sorry, I felt like I should talk about it here.

I have intense highs where I'm suddenly super happy with my body (actually even enough to eat properly and not feel bad afterwards), happy, motivated, able to multitask and have so many ideas at the same time. But a few days later, or even just the next day, I feel extremely down and hate myself, I feel depressed and overthink everything that happened in my past. I'm not sure if I just have intense mood swings or some sort of disorder, but I also don't want to talk about it with my parents...

I was misdiagnosed for 10 years: depression, anxiety, and ADHD. None of the medications worked and I kept persisting until I finally found the right doctor. I was properly diagnosed a few months ago with bipolar II with proper medication. It's important to educate ourselves and others and learn the symptoms. I really wish I had been diagnosed properly sooner, because antidepressants can make bipolar so so so much worse. Really messed me up for years.

Thanks for sharing your genuine views as many of then times people are not diagnosed correctly which is even bigger problem. Alyx, make sure that you never sit idle for longer duration and keep yourself always doing something. I mean being in to motion always. For avoiding Depression or any Brain disorders, Motion is the best Solution. #RicckyKa Depression is nothing but a Mental Disorder due to some Chemical Imbalances inside our Brain. Looking at this just be smart to be in to motion always and take quick actions in your life as any Mental Disorder takes time to develop. This only happens when you do not move your body and sit idle for longer duration. Motion is the best Solution of avoiding Depression as I have already explained in my video. #RicckyKa

Hey don’t worry, you acknowledge that something isn’t right and it’s important to find out what it is. I suffer from major depressive disorder and ocd. For awhile, I went without help because I was afraid no one would believe me and I felt like I was burden. Everyone believed the ocd but before I got diagnosed with mdd everyone but my parents believed I was depressed. My mom asked me if I was doing it for attention. It hurt that she thought I was faking something I’ve been struggling with for years but after I got tested and got the diagnosis they realized I wasn’t. It’s okay to be scared it’s a huge step to take to ask for help but it is just as important as your physical health and I promise you that although it might be a long rough journey, you will get better and be supported. Even if you don’t feel supported please know that you are and I believe and support you ❤️

That’s a situation a few of us have been through ourselves. What’s important is what you feel, what affects you. Whether it’s depression or not, all in your head or reality affecting you, it is real to you. The effects of whatever is going on is real, so regardless of if it is depression or not, they should recognize you’re not just seeking attention, you’re seeking help for whatever is troubling you, depression or otherwise. If they can make that realization, then hopefully they will stay true and support you if that’s who they are. If not, then they weren’t going to stick by you regardless.

As an auto racing fan, I know of 2 different drivers; One who suffers from Bipolar Disorder, & one who suffered from Depression. Both of these drivers were drivers who were suspended by the sanctioning body they raced in for substance abuse. The driver who suffers from Bipolar Disorder wasn't diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder until after he was banned for life from that particular sanctioning body. He was originally misdiagnosed with ADHD at the age of *5.* After he was properly diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, things were way better for him. Though he doesn't race any more after a crash in a different racing series left him paralyzed, his mood has massively improved. The driver who suffered from Depression tragically had a much worse fate. Though never banned for life this driver was suspended twice. The second one being controversial because it was alleged he was suspended for refusing to take a drug test. However the massively underreported truth was he had just suffered a concussion after a crash & the medics refused to do proper medical treatment to make sure he was ok, instead only caring about a "random" drug test... It was never known that this driver suffered from Depression, until after his death 2 & 1/2 years later... from a suicide. The driver who succumbed to Depression changed my view completely on auto racing's drug policies & the people suspended because of them. I wish information like this was more widespread so more people can be educated from it so it can help people.

I got a 20 minutes yelling lecture on why I’m so ungrateful, disrespectful, lazy, and rude. Of course, I started tearing up. I’m really sensitive. She yelled at me for another 5 minutes. This has gone on for about 4 months. This hasn’t been good for my anxiety, and I’m starting to feel suicidal. Someone give me one reason to stay alive. Hey, even though I don't know you, I wanna say that I'm proud of you for having the courage to come out. With some people it goes well, with others ... not so. But even if it may hurt to lose such people, you'll find people that accept you and with who you can be friends. If nobody, then at least I am here. My mother is like this as well, but after some time you... well, how do i put it? Get used to it? After my mother yells at me for nothing I usually go into my room, close the door, connect my earbuds and listen to music that makes me feel better. And if you question why you even endure all of this and why not just give up, remember that one day you can move out, find new friends or spend more time with the ones you've got and properly live your life. You can have a boyfriend/girlfriend (or datefriend in general) to spend your time with and be happy with. You've got this, and if not for anything or anyone else, hang in there and you'll get through it for your future self, that will be looking back and say "hell yeah, i was strong enough to push through that, so i'm strong enough to do whatever i want". I may not know you personally, but I believe you're strong. Just the fact that you still are alive proves that. So keep on being strong and you won't regret it

You're not alone and you should know that you do have people on your side. You're quite young and you have a whole life ahead of you. Please don't give up on life. I don't want that to happen. Even though life doesn't seem so great right now, I really hope everything would be okay for you. There could be so many good things in your life if you choose to live.

Please don't commit. I have suicidal thoughts a lot every hour, but please know you aren't alone. Yes, life is hurting you. And it isn't permanent. Nothing is permanent. Your friends aren't really your friends, so at least you know the truth. Sometimes that happens. Sometimes you feel like no one loves you. Find a place where you can meet someone, Instagram, Twitter, a discord server, KZbin. Have something to look forward to, like watering a plant, finishing an art piece, learning more about a language or culture, whatever.

I have bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and schizophrenia I can relate to this video so much I got diagnosed back in October of last year I’ve been struggling with my well-being since I was 13 I been seeing signs that I had bipolar disorder and anxiety for years now then I started developing symptoms of schizophrenia it was hard to manage (still is) my medication isn’t really strong and it’s not really helping at all I grew up in an African-American/Native American household mental health is misunderstood in the African American community. It was hard to open up to my mom about my struggles with my mental health she would never take it serious at all, on top of everything I just find y’all videos to be so comforting and understanding love you Psych2Go!❤️.

I figured I was bipolar when my drama queen sister was diagnosed, but saw the pills prescribed took something from her personality, so I stopped drinking and if I started feeling really down I would smoke a bowl. Did this even when I was in the military, but still passed all the pee tests, it was 2 or 3 hits every other week. I'm 40 w/ 3 teenage daughters. What I have also learned is that a piece of it is also you are empathic, so once I learned what the hell that was and how to apply the knowledge I can say that without mother nature my heart would have been shut down a long time ago and would not be saying this to all of you amazing pieces of creation. I've learn to very succesfully manage my mood swings, it has been a while since ive had a manic episode, i'm a modestly happy person, i'm very passionate and i still can get very emotional but gone are the days where my depressive states won't make me leave the bed or being a functional human being.

Make sure that you never sit idle for longer duration and keep yourself always doing something. Funny how they brought up bipolar disorder being misdiagnosed as depression when there was a period of time where the OPPOSITE was way more common (at least when diagnosing children). I know someone who suffered over 10 years under this misdiagnosis because doctors didn't look beyond the initial diagnosis. They took medication that actively worked against them and they couldn't be put on anti-depressants (for the reason stated in this video). I don't encourage self-diagnosis, but if you don't get the manic episodes but you've been diagnosed as bipolar, I reccomend getting another opinion so you don't end up like my friend!

If any of you know a lot about this sorta stuff please read this lovely essay I somehow created. I tried to shorten it but that didn’t really work. Ok so I will very slowly go into this phase: I feel super productive, I absolutely love myself, I think I’m actually beautiful, I eat good amounts of food, and overall I just feel amazing. But I don’t feel crazy or jittery. This whole process is pretty slow and gradual, and the height of it will usually last one day. Well then I suddenly change. There is nothing that triggers it, but this change happens within a few hours. I hate every bit of myself, I don’t want to eat anything, I blame myself for everything I can think of, yknow all that fun stuff. Then I usually push everything away so nobody suspects anything, because that’s my worst nightmare. Then anywhere from the next day to one or two weeks later I basically shatter. That’s when i hurt myself. I will try to make myself bleed in one form or another, sometimes bounce around the idea of not living (but never seriously considering it) after that everything slowly goes back to normal. There is no rhyme or reason to anything whatsoever, which I hate. I just wanna stay at one constant. But I can’t have everything now can I. Anyways, is there something wrong with me or is it perfectly normal? I have a major fear of the unknown, and this is definitely the unknown and I just want an answer.

I’ve been struggling for 2 years, since I was 13. I felt empty and hopeless all the time, before finally starting antidepressants. I took prozac for almost a year, but it only triggered a manic episode at first for a week or two and then a bad low where eventually I started self-harming. I was planning on suicide but my mom caught onto me and I felt so ashamed and didn’t want to see her sad. So I promised I wouldn’t kill myself and quit self-harm. Only for her, because in fact I didn’t want to at all. The self-harm turned into drinking excessively whenever I could and spending money. I went to another doctor and changed my meds for a mood stabilizer and life became so much easier. Not perfect, just manageable enough, because now at least I’m not constantly freaking out and having suicidal thoughts, just sometimes. I have a heavy suspicion that I may be bipolar, since my grandma is and my dad is probably too (he’s at least very depressed for sure). I plan on speaking to my doctor next time I meet him for a routine check. It all makes sense, the sudden productive energy peaks of motivation and the sudden lows and numbness. But I also don’t know how I really feel because I’m on meds, so they’re interfering on seeing my symptoms clearly. It doesn’t make sense for me to just be depressed. Because I took a big ass test to see which medicines matched best with me and the medicine didn’t work. It also triggered mania, which is common to happen when bipolars take antidepressants like Prozac, which I did. I just want to put a label on what I feel, I know these disorders are just names used to categorize symptoms and not actual conditions but it’d give me a little peace of mind. I don’t want to cry doing my makeup, stay up late cleaning my room out of the blue only to have my motivation suddenly vanish and feel so depressed while still having to clean the mess I made or think about overdosing in a family dinner. I want to live like a normal 15 year old girl.

They've seemed to help, the anxiety medication alone didn't help, but I realized that I definitely do not have depression, as I don't get depressive for more than two weeks at a time, at the most it may last a week, and usually it's due to an issue that has occurred that makes me feel that way.

I have wondered if the biggest effect of mood stabilizers is that they make a person tired and sap their energy. Almost every time I've tried them for depression they will make me tired and low energy if not sleepy. I could see that making some sense if someone is manic.

I’m going to talk to my doctor this week because for over a year I’ve been feeling mood swings, sometimes more than others & recently I spend 1200+ dollars on clothes and things I don’t need. Today I got no sleep, not even last night. But the night before I slept til 6pm or so. I will dance and sing and go for a run. Then I’ll just sleep. So I feel something is wrong. I am diagnosed with depression, social anxiety and ADD.
