Here is a bipolar tesla coil that can sync to music (square wave music works best). It comes with an arc length and frequency controller. It has 2 fans for cooling. It has an arc discharge range of 30cm. It comes with a 3.5mm audio interface. You shouldn’t be running something like this too close to electronics nor longer than 5 minutes or so each time.

I bought one of these. From ebay, shipped from China. I got NOWHERE NEAR this level of output... I had to increase the top load capacitance, rewind the gate drive transformer properly, add thermal grease to the IGBTs, add an extra turn on the primary with better wire and finally being that I'm in the USA.... I did away with the bridge rectifier at the 120v AC input and wired in a voltage doubler. I run it off my variac set at 150v. It's MUCH improved but still not like that... What is the drive system like in that unit? Can you tell me the model of IGBT, and what driver ICs it has? Mine has GP50B60PD1s for IGBTs and a CD74HC132E into two TC4422s. How is yours so much better than mine? I got screwed. I STILL can't arc from ball to ball, close but still NOPE. DISAPPOINTING

I used a 220V converter actually. This is what I used: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bp_Qd3l6nsakfcU. I have moved, so it will take me a while to find where I put this. But I do remember when I filmed it, I had to move that converter around which is heavy :)

@@Gadgetify OK, yeah I've seen those, and they make good sense. I just don't have one! I could've ordered the Tesla set up for 220/240 but then I'd be unplugging the dryer to use it? Nah. So after doing a little snooping into the circuit I realized that everything was basically rated for 220 it just wasnt set that way. On other coils I've built roughly using plans from forums I'm in, I used a full wave doubler in place of the rectifier chip. So I installed one. Big boost in performance but I need to add capacitance and scope the Fres of both primary and secondary coils. I still got screwed. If you ever get back inside that coil I'd be curious to know what your components are. You know how China is.... the first 100000 will have the good parts in them. Then once they start selling they start cutting corners... I posted a video on my channel of what I've done to the coil so far. More to follow. Check it out. I'm subscribed to your channel now. @@ripstephenhawking8787 I am digging your wood burning video :) I will try to find this. I have so much stuff, I have run out of space, moved to a bigger place to fit all these toys I cover on this channel. I need to get organized. I ordered a tesla egg of Columbus from China. Twice. Both times they sent me incomplete or broken items. That converter I got is so handy, man. It's pricey but I have a lot of 220V toys and that thing works like a charm.

@@Gadgetify Yeah hahaha the woodburning was more of a joke than anything. A friend of mine does the fractal woodburning on furniture which she sells, using basically a neon transformer. She saw the Monster and asked "can that thing burn wood?" I said, Honey I think this thing can burn just about anything... but for fun let's try it! Overkill. I haven't posted much. Been working with electronics awhile but never took the time to film anything. I don't have any kind of video or editing set up either but at this point I just want my videos to be educational and informative. Pretty and perfect can come later.

@@Gadgetify Those Tesla eggs look cool. So this afternoon... after all the stuff I did to the bipolar coil.... (voltage doubler etc.) I was giving it it's first real test by hooking up some music. Full power, the song starts and 30 seconds in, on a screamer high note, *blip* output stops and my variac grunts and starts humming because it's drawing current suddenly. I slap the power off and at this point all I know for sure is that I have blown the fuse on the circuit board.... but checking with my meter in diode mode... both the diode and TVS for each IGBT is reading low both ways like they may have blown to short.... I won't know if the IGBTs are good till I pull them out of circuit. Figured it would happen sooner or later. Part of the game. I've been winging it quite a bit with that coil. Just going on experience and common sense. Not really taking the time to measure carefully with my scope and run calculations every step.
