Cool. It’s the 1/2” brake line protector by gravel guard for 9mm. I added a quick disconnect for the slinky connection, designed a printable flange, made the collator plates drop in, beefed up the mount, adjusted the sensor so that it doesn’t need to be bent, etc. The 100 rpm motor on the old model didn’t work for me but the 10 rpm worked like a charm. I ran a case of 9 through it and got 100% nose up. 👍

Why does the manual say ABS ! Can it not be produced in PETG too?, the reason i ask is that my original ammomike version that i printed was in PETG been going strong for many years. Is there a structural issue that i need to be mindful of?

I have the original model together and testing it now. So far, so good. Like you mentioned, the limit switch is kinda finicky. And since I use the Lee Loadmaster, I made a bracket that would allow the hopper to mount on a piece of 1/2 inch pipe. seems OK so far. Thanks for all your hard work. I think this new model is a little over my head. :(

Hey, great update. Even though I already have a bullet feeder, I might take on the project for fun. I do have a request, however. Can you put a link to the mirror you have mounted above your press to assist in monitoring the casefeeder? That is the only part I would really like, and my searching doesn't find one like that. Thanks!

Just finished building mine. Everything is working fine except that that the motor loses steps when I load a decent quantity of bullets. Not filled to the brim, just a decent quantity. Im using the same stepper as in the video and all the same hardware. Ive upped the RMS value to max (1500) and turned the trim pot on the Bigtreetech 2209 driver to max and it still stalls, altough it is better now. Am I doing something wrong or maybe I should redesign it for a Nema 23 motor?

How did you get the IR sensor to work without a 10K ohm pull up resistor between red and white wires? Without the resistor mine would run for a bit then stop for half a second then run for a bit. it would run about 75% of the time but status light would always blink. works great now with the addition of the pull up res.
@zsdewitt9 ай бұрын
Interesting, I haven't experienced that nor heard of anyone else having an issue. I'm wondering if it could be the particular version of the optic sensor you're using?
@FrankPichler8 ай бұрын
@@zsdewitt Figured it out. Some break beam sensor use an Open collector configuration requiring a pull-up resistor. first I soldered one to the board and it worked great. But after further research I found that if you configure that input as a "INPUT_PULLUP" it uses the on board resistor. works great. it's line 45: pinMode(breakBeamPin, INPUT_PULLUP); (must be in CAPS)
@HeliRCWorldАй бұрын
@FrankPichler thank that solved the same issue for me of stopping and spinning.

Forgive my ignorance, but are the files used to make the components compatible with a resin printer along with filament type printers?
@zsdewitt10 ай бұрын
Good question, unfortunately, I have zero resin experience and can't weight in.
@TheOneTrueStoney10 ай бұрын
I have both, and it would be difficult to get a build plate big enough for these prints in resin. You'd likely also have to use your slicer to cut the larger parts into segments for reassembly, AND I'd suggest an ABS-like resin should you want to try. Having said all that, printing time would likely be greatly reduced!

There's an option to use StallGuard in order to detect jams. If that isn't used, the stepper motor has a low enough torque setting that it'll just slip.
