Another amazing video Richard. It was great to meet you. Hopefully, we can get you down for the Snowy. Unfortunately, it is even more of an urban environment than this park.

Thanks Raymond, yes it really is such an amazing place for wildlife and the diverse range of species never fails to impress me. Certainly an underrated bird and when you see them up close the colours really are so beautiful. Ah, my favourite hat the Fjallraven Beenie, keeps my head nice and warm, never leave home without it. Thanks again Rich 👍

Wow, mate what a great day! I can understand your delight with the harrier encounter; I usually only see them flying at distance. Not much chance of seeing many birds here in the UK at the moment with Storm Isha coming through. Take care! 👍🏻

Thanks Steve, seeing it that close was a special moment and to watch her digest her meal was pretty cool. Usually they really are at distance but she didn't want to leave that meal for anything! Yeah it's been rough hasn't it, I've been in the UK since last Wednesday, head back soon. Rich 👍

Great video as always Rich, loved the new camera quality, it does sound like its recording in mono so left channel only but over all great audio and image quality coming from it. Amazing location, sad to hear that one of the harriers got killed. I hope one day to return to this spot to capture some more images myself and would have loved to get harrier photos as i haven't seen one in person just yet !
@RichardBirchett9 ай бұрын
Thanks very much for watching Jordon, I'll take a look at my sound settings as you are right it's lost in places, maybe due to my settings so i'll investigate that, glad you think it looks better. Sad about the harrier fatality but I'm still not 100% it's true! It's a great spot and was a most enjoyable days photography. Fingers crossed you get the chance to see this most beautiful bird do its thing! Cheers Rich👍

Hi Richard that was a fantastic video the northern harrier was brilliant, so many different species there truly a amazing place,the photos and video footage was outstanding, that amount of wildlife in one day out in that park just a amazing place, finding the owls in one tree it’s nice to see the Rangers put some fencing up along the path hopefully it might put people off from getting to near to them, Richard this was truly amazing video thank you for sharing it with us. Martyn
@RichardBirchett9 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it Martyn, it was certainly a fun day out and the species seen were amazing, didn't quite get my Owls in flight shots but that doesn't deter me and I just loved seeing them over any image. It's also great to see the fencing erected to protect the Owls, it's needed as when it was getting dark there were a dozen photographers waiting right next to the trees for the birds to fly! Heard later they didn't hunt until much later due to the amount of people and noise! Shame people couldn't leave them be! Until next time mate👍

Makes me wonder if all the photographers learned about the Short-eared and Long-eared Owls on eBird. We birders must be sensitive to not crowd the birds we see and photograph. I really love and respect your birding style and always find it morally and ethically sound. Not a trait you see often where I live in Florida. Marvelous shots, Rich! That looks like really good habitat you are in. You need to mark this place as a personal hotspot. Learning a lot about photography from you. Keep the videos comin". That last video of the Harrier was amazing!!
@RichardBirchett9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching June, I think they are all plugged in to eBird, you'd hope it would be kept a little quite but I am sure the competitive nature for some may spoil it! Hard to say with any certainty. Thanks for saying and it's good that you see it come across in my videos where I hope to inspire and teach others to do it the same. Yeah, it's a hotspot for sure and one I'll be back to time and time again. Cheers Rich 😀
