I was living on the MS gulf coast when Tropical Storm Faye came in and the following week Hurricane Gustaf came in.. I evacuated for Gustaf but that whole week was the most stressful week of my life.. When I got away it was nice just to relax..

Enjoyed your video and the work you are doing with the skull mounts. When you are using super glue, you should pick up some activator so you don't have to sit and hold the pieces together. The activator will set the super glue almost immediately. Great video

You should get dermestid beetles to clean the skulls. They do a great job. NOAA uses them to clean the bones of large mammals like porpoises.

That mount stuff is cool. I have never done. I know you can buy beetles to clean them. But I wonder if crawdads or maybe some sort of crabs would clean them also? Maybe even smaller fish? Just a suggestion, you could make a small wire cage that can be secured to a stake or small tree put the skulls inside then put it in the back of the yard and the ants will pretty much clean them over night.

I’m so glad you got through the hurricane with only a little damage,so many weren’t that lucky. I was born and raised on the coast of North Carolina and hurricanes are just a fact of life for us all. What happened in our mountains during Helene is absolutely horrific and I pray for all the folks from the islands to Virginia who lost so much ! So that being said, loved this video, I also love skull mounts and if your using the beetle method there is no need to soak the skull just put it in wet and keep humidity up by keeping it in a well shaded spot and those dudes will take care of it lol. Again great video ❤
