After doing some more research, we learned the correct pronunciation for Abert's in Abert's Towhee is like "A" as in "Ace", A-bert-s as opposed to Ab-erts. Just a heads up! :)

We moved from Midwest to SW. We miss some of our old bird friends but gained a whole new extended family of species. Where we live our local habitat the Abert’s Towhee has become our new Common ground bird instead of robin. They are resident year round. We have seen a robin or two in the grassy city parks. Glad you were able to see our local friends during your visit. The Sonoran Desert Museum should be on your list next time.

It's crazy seeing all your Arizona uploads! I birded this same place a couple years back allllll the time while living in Tucson. Such a great spot and the people there are super nice and helpful. Sora's live in those bigger pools of water and there is a spot across the fence where a ton of ducks sit. Gambles quail are about as common as robins are in certain parts of Tucson, but have always been one of my favorite birds of the south west.

Good spot to see a bobcat as well. There is a female that comes in from along the Santa Cruz River corridor. I’ve seen her a couple times. Once feeding on a rabbit she’d caught.

We got our lifer Abert’s there, too, a couple years ago. Parking lot bird upon arrival. What a thrill. And that is a fantastic space indeed!

Fantastic place; I've seen foxes, bobcats, coyotes and all sorts of birds there; the redwinged blackbirds nest there all over the place, and it's a regular hunting ground for three or four species of hawks. Tons of turtles, too-- I think some of them have been dumped there; I've seen several really sizeable softshells of some sort in the ponds.

I was just there in may! If you guys get a chance to ever go back, do it! I was there around 10-11am and was lucky to spot a vermillion flycatcher right beside the lake. I’m assuming they hang out there all spring-summer.

Greetings! I've been away from the channel because I'm no longer truck driving. I wonder if you guys passed through El Paso, Tx to get to Tucson... El Paso also has the Gambels Quail, the chicks are extremely cute as they will follow mom and dad in a single file line as they move along. My neighbor across the street was blessed one year as a family of quail nested in their yard, or at least found shelter there for awhile. We also have the Nighthawks, and as mentioned before the White Winged doves in great abundance! Nice watching your videos again 😃

For a second I thought this video was about Sweetwater wetlands where I live in Gainesville, Florida 😅 It's also a great birding hotspot, especially for wading birds and waterfowl, but we get many different types of birds there.
