A Black Eagle just flew over me, turned around, and flew back over me. I'm in Northeast Nevada. Very COLD lately and Snow covered with biting winds. My buddy heater warms my bus up to 20 degrees . That's all. So i am VERY happy to watch birds with you as I am wrapped in 4 blankets, too cold to sleep. 🦅🐦💚

Don - I'm heading to SE AZ in a couple weeks for the first time. Doing some youtube prep and stumbled on this video and thought "Hey, that looks like Don K!"... and sure enough... glad to see you are doing well. I've been in northeast BC for 20+ years. All good. And yes, I still have Jake!

I love this video! Thank you so much. Since I've been caged like a bird, I am learning as much as I can about the birds around me. I bought binoculars and can identify a few of the birds outside my window. I live in Chandler AZ and am fortunate enough to have an empty field next to my apartment. I have seen a pair of hawks that hunt the field....my heart nearly explodes when I see them...they are magnificent! They have become my friends. Again, thank you for this video...I'll watch it until I memorize each bird. Thank you for taking the time and using your expertise to make AZ come alive. It means a lot to me!!!!!! Thank you

If you're interested in watching a wide variety of birds near Chandler try the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert at Guadalupe and Greenfield. Nice park with several ponds/lakes. The winter is the best time of year. Veterans Oasis Park in Chandler is also nice but I prefer the park in Gilbert. Enjoy!

@@stuartdavis798 I've been to the Riparian Water Ranch once. After I move back to Arizona, Gilbert area, I plan to spend a lot of time there. Love birds.

Headed to Arizona to live. I'm a birdwatcher and have not seen any of these birds in person being in Colorado. I want to see birds in person so I have to relocate to AZ. I was able to ID some of your birds just from pictures I've seen. Thanks so much.

I never knew how beautiful S.E. Arizona is. I agree it is so important to get away sometimes .What fun you had, I especially loved the babbling brook area. I think you traveling after the monsoon season enabled Mother Earth to be very lush. blessings . #5001 Look forward to more bird watching.

Madera Canyon, new place to check out on my list. I learned about the snakes. You want to see what type of backstop the snake has or is it on open ground. They can only lunge far if they have something to push off from like a rock edge or a trunk of a tree. That's when you need to back up past twice its length and if coiled up. Those birrds are so cool to see. I am amazed at how much sugar a hummingbird needs to eat to stay active. Each one has to be an expert forager to every find that much nectar. Thanks for the footage.

Great video Don! We can't wait to go explore Madera Canyon - it looks beautiful. We also have Alot of friends asking why AZ? It's so hot... LOL Then we go on and on about the "high desert" but we are starting to just say "cause we're crazy"... We love how uncrowded the Sierra Vista area is and we are loving it! We hope you are doing well and look forward to more videos on both Channels. Have a Happy Holidays! P.S. We're waiting for our Tilley hats to arrive in the mail! 😊

Stumbled upon your video and it brought back so many memories of when I was stationed at Ft. Huachuca. Sadly, I wasn’t into birding or photography then but your video makes me want to return to the area! Looking forward to your next adventure!

Ouch! You really know how to hurt a guy! Just kidding... 😉 In just over ten minutes you managed to check-off most of my old stomping grounds in and around the SE AZ Sky Islands -- my idea of heaven on earth during monsoon season. Nice video, Don.. very well done.. and I greatly appreciate you throwing in the herps, too! I'm so home-sick I can hardly wait until my opportunity to return to the area, this time for good.. Thanks for sharing!

What a great video. I enjoyed watching all the nature. I appreciate the labels for your birds/animals as well. It’s extremely helpful. The zone tailed hawk was pretty cool! I loved hearing it calling. My favorite part was the coatimundi just wandering through having a little snack. 😊🙏❤️

What a treat this was! I am so glad you created this channel. I loved the birds and the fact that you named each. I also enjoyed the snakes and the tarantula, not to mention video of a coati --I'd only seen still pics of them. Also, I have never seen a Mexican Jay; what a beautiful bird. Thank you so much for this wonderful video!

@02:15 2 thumbs-up; I totally agree, a fabulous setting. I'm sure I would return many times… wishing that I could. Crum! Then you find a wooded creek and falls. Well, I will have to watch this one over and over! Do you suppose "Climate Change" is causing so many animals and birds to appear in the area?

Hi Sean. Glad you enjoyed this beautiful spot as I did! This area has always been incredibly diverse historically so the diversity of so many animals and birds has been going on for many many years here. Thanks for watching this channel as well as my other one!

Great video, and thanks for bringing us along! Quick question though: does Scott have a permit to be handling protected reptiles in AZ? AZGFD prohibits the handling of both of those first two rattlesnake species you showed (C. lepidus and C. willardi), and poking one with a stick, or manipulating one in any way for the sake of photography, would certainly be frowned upon.
