When I lived in Muswell Hill, North London I was under great mental stress. However, the birds sang to me and I am sure one of them was a nightingale. Previously, I had been in South Kensington, London and the only birds there were city pigeons and sparrows; there was little comfort for me from them. I am eternally grateful to the small songsters who cheered me up during that terrible time. :)

That is such a trip that this was made 7 years ago. It's so beautiful and all of us who like to be alone. You can only listen to NPR or old movies and things like that for so long it's certainly good to take a break and listen to the birds talk. Go Back To Nature always

I suffer from insomnia so I started this and it helped me get a nap in that lasted almost 2 hours. That's almost as much sleep as I get in a night. I will be playing it on a loop at bedtime and praying it helps me sleep. Thanks for sharing this.

Had some stress levels of late ,sadly hubby has early dementia and his off days can be very hard to cope with with both being 80. We have great friends and family and catch up when we can, Covid has turned many lives around in the stress department and I find my time ..reading ..coffee with dear friends..family..etc. However the days one cant get out because of the weather..played a downward stress level from us both. A week ago I searched the net for comfort and here after a week found this beautiful site. I place the computer in the lounge and in the back ground we both hear these beautiful birds which is so relaxing.My husband loves the sounds and has dosed off in the conservatory many times which has bought peace. I also play music from our era, and will see him tapping his toes and he will ask who the musician is he has forgotten. Life offers you 'mending time' no pills needed at our age..so its back to the sounds with a welcomed cuppa tea and home-made biscuits .:D Huia

We have them here in France, 24/7. I love listening to them. My late parents used to listen to them in Sussex many years ago. Some places here in France you can hear then day and night. It's fantastic!

Nikki Clarke Nightingales are in Europe, Mockingbirds in America. But here's more differences: There is a BIG difference between a Mockingbird and a Nightingale. First, the Nightingale is a Thrush. The Mockingbird is a Mimic Thrush. They both are "Thrushes", but the Mockingbird is a Mimic Thrush, it's a phony. The Nightingale is the one with the beautiful song. There are many different species of Mockingbirds and Nightingales. The Most well known Mockingbird is the Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottus). The Most well-known Nightingale is the Rufous Nightingale. Sometimes the Rufous Nightingale is considered a Old World Flycatcher species.
