Touche' is definitely more outgoing at the moment... but something about Leftie touches my heart. I know from my Quaker 20 years ago how much personality these little dragons can have once comfortable. I think that you are very blessed to be able to work with rare species of birds. The birds you take care of trust you and love you! Thanks for the tip about spraying upwards and letting water fall down on the bird. It really helps my parrotlet to enjoy the spray bottle a lot more. She no longer freaks out when she sees the bottle in my hand.

Awwwwe I’m so happy you took on these guys as a pair. I feel like they will help each other grow. Touché’s little cartoon voice and antics makes you giggle every time, and lefty’s shifty waddle and cautious warming up to you is sooo precious. The decor of the bath at the end... too funny! Oh my goodness Touchè is such a little character! It is going to be so exciting to watch your step-by-step breakthroughs with Lefty. I always appreciate watching you interact with a new bird and you allowing the bird to say "no thank you" to step-ups and the like. It is very important that you lead by example in this and allow others to watch exactly how you would handle the situation. Plus, we get to see how relaxed both birds are in their new environment without needing to flutter, fly, or bite. Great first day and thank you for allowing us to watch.

2 little pickle buddies! My grandma’s neighbor had a green cheeked conure for about 4-5 years.her/his name was Pickle.he loved free flying in his huge Pennsylvanian back yard.he was the nicest bird and loved his blueberries.One day while he was perching on his perch a hawk swooped down from nowhere and took our neighborhood gem.R.I.P Pickle,we will always remember you.

Gotta say pretty surprised by how they reacted so positively right out of the cage, especially for birds with such heavy pasts. No aggressive body language. It really shows how much they needed good human interaction and calm space outside the cage.

I think day 1 dictates a lot for that first impression. I think it would have gone very differently if I'd moved them straight into cages and let them hang in the house and then approached later.

Touche is so outgoing compared to Lefty. They are both super cute. Quakers look so cuddly and Indian Ringnecks are so beautiful and sleek. It looked like Lefty was picking up the clicker training pretty quickly and Touche was very personable and was a cute talker. Lefty was so close to getting onto your hand, but he just wasn't sure. I have a feeling these two are going to be some great little birds!

Oh my gosh, they're both just so adorable! Touche is such a cute little chatterbox, and Lefty is adorably.... round. lol. I hope Lefty learns to speak from Touche... Ringnecks have my favorite parrot voices, and Quakers are probably second. So great to see they've already gotten comfortable enough for your shoulders, and with each other too. Exaggerated prediction: Week 2, the fear issues are fixed, and it's just another month of flight training for both of them after that xD

Thanks for sharing your first day! Other than you being *way* more efficient at housework than me, your daily routine with the birds was so similar to my life with a Ringneck and a very clingy Pineapple Conure. Always someone's beak in the recipe, shoulders and hair laden with feathers and always sweet coos of "I love you" or happy bird purrs. It's the best way to get the chores done.
