I was deeply depressed last year looking at self-yeet very seriously. I ended up taking in a bunch of different unwanted pets & oddly enough filling my day with chores & food prep really fixed my head. The responsibility drives me & gives me purpose. It’s a lot of work but it’s good for you :D

I trained my caique to poop in the wc, first I taught her to recognize her poop giving it a name (caca) and then, in small steps, we moved to the wc 🚽. Now I just ask her to "caca" and she poops! That was kind of easy so good luck!

Thank you so much! 💕 I love budgies, they are the cutest! I’d say do a lot of research and make sure you have everything you need for them before you bring them home! Get the biggest cage you can with the right bar spacing so they have room to fly and spend lots of time taming them! I’ll definitely make budgie videos if I get the chance to adopt one in the future!

Just make sure you have done all your research. There is a lot of responsibility that comes with birds and you have to be completely ready. Birds are so amazing but they take a lot of work. Make sure you have a good cage, diet, understanding of their body language, and training. I recommend ElleandtheBirds on KZbin. She owns a lot of budgie/parakeets and I get a lot of info from her. Good luck to you tho! I’m sure your bird will be very happy! That’s super exciting :)

Get two budgies, not just one. Budgie is really miserable alone. They live in flock and need othet budgies also do not expect them to be like green cheeks. Budgies might not bond with u. They r fragile and often scared. They need someone who has patience and who can also accept that the budgie might not bond with them. They ll bond more with theie peers. They r wild animals

They should sleep in their cage at night. Please NO NEST. Birds do not need nests to sleep they sleep on perches like in the wild. They need ten to twelve hours of sleep. They should have no problem breathing unless the cover is too heavy. If they have problems breathing an avian vet is a must. Please do your research on everything you need to know.

I just adopted a 3-month-old green cheek from a rescue and he's the cutest! We've bonded fairly well, and it's only been a week! The cuddles are amazing. The thing is, he poops like every 10-15 minutes, which I expected and I'm totally fine with it. I just don't put him on my head because I don't want to deal with poop in my hair lol. How do you have them on your head and shoulders for so long? Is it just potty training, or do they poop less when they're older?

The pooping every 15 minutes or so is annoying but predictable so we’ve actually build a small stand with a stack of old newspapers in it as a pooping station. It’s close by so every 15 min I place him on there and poops right away and then the paper get thrown out at the end of the day with a new one underneath. Hope that helps, works well for us and no more surprise poop finds

Yes, he's really noisy! If I'm in the room, he wants out of his cage, and the second he knows I'm awake in the morning, he screams until I let him out. But he's an absolute sweetheart and loves to hang out on my bed while I'm doing homework. He's even learned to say his name!

What you’re doing with your conures is just absolutely amazing. We have a very similar routine for our conure when we are home and we are mostly home bodies so it’s nice. Only issue is our weekly work schedule just heart breaking leaving our conure alone 8 plus hours a day till we finally get home. And he’s free to be a little ball of energy and mischievous and happy and playful

Before I watched this video, I wanted to get a green cheek conure. But now I don't want to get one anymore especially after I saw your conures pooped and poop stains on you bf's shirt. The poops were wet, runny, green, big, long and a lot for such a small bird. I watched this video of yours while resting in bed recovering from food poisoning, stomach flu and the common flu. This triggered me so much that I'll stick with budgies only. 😅 And my budgies hate fruits and vegetables. They won't eat them even if they are hungry.

What type if shampoo do you use when you have birds in the shower with you. I would assume that you can't have Dove, Pantene, or anything like that because it can probably harm the bird I would think from the smell and ingredients.

Any advice for when the edges and back feathers are a little rough/scraggy on a Green Cheek? Her name is Sunny. We got her off the horrible corn pellets and we found a low sugar diet helped a LOT with her crabby attitude. She’s on whole roasted Hemp seeds (which she LOVES), millet and healthy whole nuts. Pistachios and cashews are her favourite. We offer cuttle bone and mineral blocks (which she ignores) but her feathers always have this unkempt look ever since we got her. Her previous family loved her very much too. She was not a neglected bird. 💕

I use to go thru like 5 Haines T shirts a day until I started draping a towel around my shoulder I clean the towel off but ill use it all day now my shirts stay clean sometimes I use a clip to hold the towel around me like a cap lol it works

I just want to say thanks for all the advice and info! I took in a flock of finches last year. Bunch of old men with scaly mites. They needed some serious TLC & I had zero experience caring for birds. I still have 4 out of five left! They’re 5 & 5.5 years old, looking good, active & happy :D they have the biggest room in the house to themselves (occasionally my bunny hangs out with them) and they eat like kings. They get all their nutrients from fresh food & seed (they didn’t take to kibbles probably because they spent their entire lives eating dollar store budgie seed) and they’re favourite pass time is stuffing their many nests with bedding 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
