Thank you! I admire and deeply respect this wonderful woman. Without her miraculous voice, the world of music would be much poorer, she was a great musician and a warm human being. One of the most witty, for sure!

@SuperMagren The great Nilsson, she was a fantastic lady with strength of character, gentleness and wit. I admire her down-to-earth manner, she was one of those with a pesonality...PERSONALITY. It's so hard to come to terms with the frightening fact that this is a time of noise and anger, I myself can't, I believe you have this problem too ... so many coarse, self-indugent people, non - compassion as a general rule. When you were eleven, I was only a year old, I arrived at wonderful and important lessons in Art much later than you have. Thank God and kind people for these treasure chests on You tube. What will my students have, will they get to know the beauty we were surrounded by? I keep telling them what to read and listen to; I'm so worried about this.

@SuperMagren Everding's interviews - such valuable documents about great singers, I watched many editions of these conversations, trying in all possible ways to understand the meaning of what was said, since the German language is terra incognita for me; of course, I can speak a few words and manage to find the main idea from the context, but mine is a very poor understanding, I must admit ... so it diminishes the pleasure of watching. Also, as a huuuuge fan of pure perfection called Joan Sutherland, I know well the conversations with Levin, both, and with the fantastic Nilsson as well. It's funny, and I've been chasing you on Yt with a link to another interesting TV program, I'm sending it again - and again, there's the same trouble with German for me; my good friend who completed his master's degree in Germany - he is the best double bass player in my country! - is currently on a journey and can't help me with the language; by watching, I'm trying to absorb the charisma and dignity of this wonderful gentleman because I can't understand much of his wonderful speech, I you'll see why I regret it so. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gV6sfn9vfalkaK8

@SuperMagren Thank you for the advice, superb, as usual! As reciprocity: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2PchWWDqNCrorM Please, be kind and have a listen, it doesn't take long. You wrote to me about Poland ... in my imagination, there are Balzac and Madame Hańska....

@SuperMagren I wanted and didn't have time a little earlier to refer to your mention of Herr Windgassen ... I'm sad that our friends on the other channel don't hold this serious artist in high regard. Also the case with their judgement on the genius lady, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf ( we already know what kind of treatment I underwent, with my sympathies for Waechter); well, those are the peaks of culture and sophistication, their lives were consecrated to their Art. I am sure you share my opinion and affection for these names.

thank you for this documentary which I normally would have completely ignored since it's in German. The Lady Macbeth clip is wonderful. Even her voice-over reading the note from Macbeth is so far the best rendition I've heard yet. Her glorious voice and acting give new meaning to the phrase " sang-froid", just the lift of an eyebrow and a subtle smirk communicate volumes, unlike some new emerging singers who sing badly, constantly contort their faces with exaggerated gestures and act as though they are about to have an epileptic attack or a cerebral hemorrhage.
@smurf9024 ай бұрын
Even just that first clip, any scepticism of Nilsson's abilities will be put to rest. It's not the volume, it's the quality: spot on pitch and forward motion musicallym
@Ernie12 ай бұрын
The voice itself is not particularly attractive. It's the volume and the easy facility above the staff that stands out.

Grossartig in jeder Hinsicht.

There’s too much footage here of her merely lip-syncing. There isn’t anything more boring (or dishonest) than trying to pass off a lip-synced performance as a live performance. There is so much “live” footage of Birgit. I guess in the early 1970s there were too many insurmountable copyright issues for using “live” performances.
