Dave Challinor is the obvious choice for me. He has a superb record of promotions, plays good football and Blues would be the perfect step up. I am not interested in managers who are waiting to see if something else better comes along. I want a manager who would be a natural fit for Blues and who would be delighted to manage them. Surely that man is Challinor? If he wants the job, give it to him.

Still baffles me that if we’re mentioning all these names how has no one mentioned Carlos Carvalhal? He ticks more boxes than anyone else in my view.

I'm sorry but I'm fed of hearing about managers waiting to see if a job higher up comes up for them before considering coming to blues. If they consider us a to be a backup option, I don't want them. I want someone who is fully committed and eager to come, not someone that can't get a better job so is settling for us. There are plenty of promising young managers that would give their right arm for the chance to manage us, especially with the future looking so bright.

This Chris Davies assistant manager at spurs the new name in the hat, risky giving a guy who’s never been manager such a big transfer window ahead of such a big big season.

Brian your microphone is echoing when you move mate. Interesting discussion and hopefully we will make an appointment soon. We may need to accept that the manager to get us out of League One may not be the one who gets up from the Championship. I am moving towards Neil to get us up and then taking a look again after that.

The job should go to someone who wants the job and not just settle for it !

Who had Chris Davies coming from Spurs on their Blues bingo card?

I think it's fair to say, dressed up as a "thorough process", really means that there's a lack of plan. Nobody could've foreseen Mowbray's unfortunate illness. But once the results took a turn for the worse thereafter, why didn't they get on with creating a shortlist of managers? Whether that be for the worst-case scenario, or a championship 24/25 season. I worry that someone like Garry Cook, whose in charge of footballing matters doesn't seemed to have learned from the Rooney/Eustace debacle.

Someone said Gary cook on holiday so we’re waiting on him to get back which if that’s the case it’s a shambles, Football waits for no one, no such thing as a holiday in football

Lampard would be my preferred choice

Any manager coming in will first need to see the players we already have and with players away til maybe July that leaves little time to bring in new players. I would offer Gary Rowett a 1 year deal with the clubs option of a further 1 year. He already knows the players, the club etc and wouldn't be such a gamble.
@CraigBuckton-o3q7 ай бұрын
I think I would go the same way. He already started to get a tune out of them regarding clean sheets and results alas we fell just short. Plus we need to hit the ground running come the start of the season.

I'm unsure why you are so for Rosenior when you yourselves said his team's can't break down teams who just defend. Literally every team will be doing that against us. I wouldn't have faith that we finish in the top 2. I would be more for Lampard based on the style of play and revenue he would make us.

I will start by saying i dont have any faith in the club on the football side of things, i get the impression its all about fancy football and in this league i think we need brawlers(soldiers) a blend of experience and young strong players and players with a track record of 20 goals plus in this league and start the big rebuild next season, lets just get out of this division.

Stockport fan here. I don't think challinor would be a good fit for brum. In 14 seasons he has had 7 promotions - 2 at Stockport. But he has never managed above National League with the exception of Stockport. No manager wants to manage a club where the one thing you haven't mentioned is financial investment for the coming season. Where is it? How much? Is it going to be a competitive one or bargain basement? As for Lampard I think you are dreaming but not in a big name way. He needs to be a lower league manager first at least 3 years and two promotions before he looks again at championship level. Look at his disaster of management so far. Rooney too needs to start lower than he has done even some argyle fans don't want him for the same reason. Think about Moyes at Preston - he did a great job but thrust in to man Utd he bombed big time. Has nothing to do with who went before him it was the wrong move. To get brum back to championship is going to take 3 years at least. The team is mediocre by league 1 standards. Based on the current pre transfer squad you might reach 12th place. You need to ship our and invest in new players. Yes you need a manager but once that is solved then it's money time and I suspect it will be a small budget compared to the other big and medium size clubs in lge 1. Look beyond unemployed Premier managers. Your club structure is no where near what they would want to walk into. The other West Midlands clubs are building, brum is crumbling and freefall is possible. Happened to Stockport. Promoted to lge 1 in 2008 playoff. 3 years later dropped in to national lge and went down again to Nat lge north. Almost went bust in 2010. I would look at a manager who has lge 1 experience and has been consistent in top half finishes. Lampard is a car crash, so is Rooney. Brum is not a BIG club right now. Not that big a fish in the lge1 pond. Find a manager, clear out the dross, set a 3 year plan, don't expect to be up next season. Stockport put in place a 7 year plan to get back to the championship. 4 years - 3 promotions with 1 promotion prior to the takeover. We are one year ahead of our target so 3 seasons to build a championship challenging squad. Challinor won't leave he said he has unfinished business here and that's to get us to championship level. Good luck 👍 ps....... Check out jasper carrot talking about brum city years ago lol. Also Tony butler on BRMB 🤣🤣🤣 PURE FUNNY.

Oh hang on.... Half a season in with Hartlepool in lge 2 and he left them to join us in the Nat lge. That is how to learn management.

What about the striker Rotherham have signed,a very decent player
@davidrichards-677 ай бұрын
Very good points !!! That's why l think we should sign Rowett up, he knows the club has the right experience & knows from his 8 games last season who needs to be shown the door !! This mindset of playing like Man City is foolish at best but potentially suicidal. I think Rowett on a 3 year plan could have us pushing for playoffs in the championship but the idea of Pep style football has to be binned !!

Please not Rowett😊

@@leewilliams7052 I think Paul Cook would be a good choice for brum. Promotion winner and league cup semi finalist with stockport in 96/97. Very strong leader.

How will we have the best players if we don’t have a manager? Players that are prepared to play at this poxy level will already be signed by the clubs hoping to get out of this division less we forget we don’t have a squad we need about 10 players and then get them to gel. This is 2 or 3 year spell in league 1. Come back to me please when I’m proved right
@royalblue57587 ай бұрын
With the best will in the world Blues will not be spending 2-3 years in League One. They will be looking at promotion next season and I think they will achieve that. We will have a manager and players will come in over the transfer window. Have a bit of faith in the owners and the club.
