Original Butterfree Run: • Butterfree Only - Poke...
Rules:
1. Only my starter in battle
2. No items in battle, except held items
3. No glitches, exploits, or save states
4. No movepool evasion-boosting moves before level 100*
Rule details:
-- I make no attempt to have the exact same rule details between generations.
-- I am allowed to manipulate my starter
-- I play the game at 4x game speed
-- For fair comparisons my Pokemon have perfect (or near perfect) DVs / IVs
-- I am allowed to catch HM users - I can use all field moves
-- Evasion boosting is allowed if the move is not obtained from the Pokemon’s movepool. For example, using Mimic or Mirror Move to boost evasion is allowed.
-- Surge's trash-can-puzzle is automatically solved
-- The bike is allowed in gen1 & 4, banned in gen2, and allowed only to bypass terrain in gen3
-- Saving between league members is allowed
-- I can pause the game and timer to take breaks
-- Items obtained with the ability Pickup can only be used if the starter obtained them
-- The footage is sped up & slowed down to match the pace of my narration
These Rule details apply only to generation 1:
-- All battle-mechanic glitches are allowed (glitches that occur outside of battle are banned)
-- In generation 1, I'm allowed to skip Marowak with the Poke Doll

Happy birthday. Hope it was great! Good run. Would training out of viridian forest for 2-3 levels help? Instead of getting hp and attack evs in the forest, you get speed from ratatta and pidgeys. Can help outspeed the charizard and possibly for sleep against the dragons. Keep up the good work!

One thing that can speed up Butterfree's time vs Brock is training in Viridian Forest until you're level 14 and have 622 at most remaining to get to 15. That'll be enough for lightyears guy and Brock's Geodude to get Butterfree to 15 and get Sleep Powder for Onix.

Since you outspeed Blaine's Rapidash and Blaine seems to always Full Heal his Rapidash on turn 2 if you sleep it on turn 1, you could put it to sleep turn 1, set up sub for free turn 2, then sleep it again on turn 3. That might provide more consistency for Butterfree as if the Substitute makes it to Arcanine, you won't get 1-shot when Arcanine wakes up.

In regards to your idea about possible daily releases. It might be an idea to think of some sort of 5-10 minute segments that you could do daily because an hour long video is kind of an investment to watch every single day (imo)
