The prince of Gen 5 before the glowup, it's cool to see he performed decent even without access to permanent Rain, I know the constant test printing will slow it down but at the same time in Gen 5 when those playthrough eventually start and it's Politoed's turn I'm wondering just how much ahead of the other 2 he will be since he could probably cruise through the whole game spamming STAB water moves and has access to Scald to offset any physical threats

Poliwhirl's run really makes me interested to see what Linoone can achieve in gen3.

Curious question how are you able to fight blue before fighting Sabrina. Last I checked you have to have all the other badges before you can even fight him?

I always loved poliwhirl more than the evolved forms anyway and was glad that I was at a complete disadvantage by not evolving it. Cool that your results show all three!

This is your best vs video in a long time. The thought that went into the narrative for it is very evident and it's really cool that you explored this evolutionary line to such a degree. I hope Poliwag will be able to get a solid results.

Poliwhirl simply did a lot better than Politoed here. Politoed has far too many points where things can go so wrong so fast. Out of curiosity, did you try HP Electric? Politoed goes to such a bad crawl when it's fighting Water-types. Poliwrath's Fighting-type isn't really the issue for most of the game, it's the fact that GSC caters heavily to Special attacks, and he doesn't do them good. Poliwhirl does them worse, true, but has Belly Drum to make up for it. Awesome runs. That was a CLOSE finish.

Submission sucks, but "Hell Wheel" being its Japanese name makes it just a little bit awesome too.

I think you may have missed out on using Hidden Power Fighting for Wrath. Wouldn't that have given you a flexible option for STAB damage?

For the second playthrough with Poliwrath, wouldn't it make more sense to buy a second Ice Punch TM and replace it with Earthquake prior to the Victory Road Rival so you have Submission to deal with Umbreon later? Then you could replace Submission with Ice Punch heading into Lance. Excited to see Poliwhirl and Belly Drum put in the work! I enjoy the rare opportunities where a whole evolution line has the chance to shine.

I really have to wonder if stealing Earthquake from Giovanni's Dugtrio would be better at shredding the rest of his team than relying on Double Team.

Any chance of implementing a turns by trainer average? I was watching and thought the metric between gyms would be a fun one to see where pokemon start struggling or fall off against certain trainers. As well as when the moves gets a major increase in power or coverage. The change between first play through and a more optimized route sounds fantastic to see. Let me know your @ScottsthoughtsPokemon ;)

Politoad is one of the more forgettable pokemon for me despite liking it's design especially back when silver/gold versions came out but I never got to use it due to how it evolves which probably contributes to me forgetting it but the same goes for not getting to use kingdra but it's still one of my favourite pokemon. I think it's because how much more i like kingdras design it is much cooler.

This was one of your best VS videos yet! The part where you showed footage of the two competitors side by side was intense and added a lot to the experience! Spoilers below: One thing I will say is if Poliwhirl doesn't need the Pink Bow for damage ranges vs Clair, then it could hold a Przcureberry to negate Thunder Wave rather than risk Hypnosis missing. Other than that, you played very skillfully with the competitiors.

The interesting thing about Polywrath is that taking its game time and dividing it by four gives 1:12:30. Some inaccuracies arise through the game itself and 38 seconds are due to the rest against Karen. So it's an amazing time with basically perfect play using these strategies. Polywhirl vs. Politoed is a beautiful demonstration of "time spent in battle." Even if you did a bit of unnecessary wild training. Which I really love. And now the question: How would Belly Drum influence both final evolutions?
@skeetermania320215 сағат бұрын
Poliwhirl also outsped Charizard at the end while Politoed didn’t. That was clutch considering the difference in time.
