Birthday Surprise in Hakone! [International Couple in Japan]

(My Japanese husband surprised me with a very unexpected Japanese birthday trip 🇯🇵)
Kiwi’s birthday and Valentine’s Day surprise! I surprised her after work with a trip to Hakone in Kanagawa Prefecture! We took the train to Hakone Yumoto and stayed at a traditional Japanese ryokan hot spring hotel to celebrate with a kaiseki-ryori Japanese room service meal, karaoke and surprise cherry blossom viewing!
Have you ever worn yukata or visited a Japanese hot spring? Do you know that people bathe in onsens naked? Maybe it takes some getting used to, but it’s one of the most relaxing experiences in the world! Would you enjoy this trip? Let us know what you think!

I am 23yo & It has been more than 7 years since I stopped celebrating my birthday with whole heartedness. I didnt wanna celebrate my birthday coz I never felt like I have accomplished anything significant in my life so far, I simply wasn't happy about myself. I now make a resolution to keep pushing myself & be productive to accomplish something before june 29 ( my birthday)

@@ashupatil9098 If I may suggest something, For the rest of this weekend, don't think about what you might want to accomplish before June 29th. No goal setting, defer your resolution these few days, don't push yourself. Instead, I want you to focus on what makes you happy. In simple terms, what do you enjoy doing? Don't just name something, I want you to search your mind and explore it to great depths. If you had all the time, resources, total freedom, what would you choose to do with your time? Don't rush through this, spend as much time as you can on it this weekend. You can't have an accomplishment until you have figure out what you want to do. I feel pursuing a goal isn't about accomplishing it, it's about knowing what you want, and taking steps toward doing that. Say you figure out you enjoy drawing. Nobody draws something, checks off a box and says "I have accomplished drawing!" No, they pick up a pencil, and start drawing. They keep doing it because they enjoy it. It makes them happy. They do it over and over and get better each time. Maybe one day they realize coloring their drawing makes them happier. So they learn to paint in addition to drawing. Humans are at their best with they are doing what brings them joy. It's not about achieving goals, it about knowing ourselves, and striving to improve ourselves each day. I hope you find this approach helpful.

You NEVER seemed ungrateful. I recently followed you and I was fascinated by that town you visited. I found out we have one something like it in California!. I never knew it was there. It is in Saratoga, Ca. It doesn't have hot springs but it has gardens and a lot of history. Naturally I would love to visit the one in Japan one day. It was the most fabulous trip he took you on. He is the BEST!

There’s a scene in the anime “Spirited Away” where the main character has to hold her nose as she crosses a bridge like this one. If she breathes out, then spirits will be able to see her and vice versa! It’s a great movie, you should check it out if you haven’t seen it 😁

Thank you ☺️ this is Hotel Nanpuso, and the area by the river is Hakone-Yumoto. The Odakyu Romance Car train from Tokyo stops at the station, so it’s really convenient to get to 😊
