In the Summer of 2017, I was invited by Bob Hamburg of Omega-Alpha Recycling Systems, better known as Biogas Bob, to join him and the crew at the Dickinson College Farm in Carlisle Pennsylvania to document their build of a 1,000-gallon biodigester. This new digester is a sausage or tube-style continuous operating digester based on an existing system already on site. Each of these digesters can produce several cubic meters of biogas per day, and consume hundreds of pounds of cafeteria waste each week.
