As a Damfino, I want to thank you so much for this! You did a great job Jordan. Keep in mind that Buster spent only about two weeks in Piqua while his mother recovered from the birth. Buster actually considered Muskegon, Michigan his hometown; it's where his father bought the family's only home and where he spent his summer's growing up (the rest of the year, he traveled with the family's vaudeville act). Muskegon is where the annual Buster Keaton International Society Convention is held, and where you can find a life size statue of Buster in front of the theater there. There are also many other things you can see related to Buster's time there. Oh, and, they didn't shave Buster's forehead, it was a wig. I love your vlogs, but this one was special. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for doing this vlog. I love, love, love that you showed where Buster Keaton's Museum is located. I kept looking in LA, but I never thought to look in Kanas. My great-uncle Max Nosseck directed Keaton in Paris and I have a few photos of the crew, I'm totally going to send them to this museum. I found the photos in my Grandfather's (Martin) screening room (Nosseck Projection) at Sunset and Doheny after he passed away in 1980. This screening room was also the place that Howard Hughes lived for a few weeks, I got a chance to see him once, it was around 1971 and he looked totally normal. Also, strangely enough I was James Karen's Theatrical agent with M.E.W.Inc. in Beverly Hills from 1978-1980. He was a very nice man, but very dramatic. He'd come into the office wearing a cape, hat and a cane and would tell us stories while he'd wave his cane around. Mr. Karen was alway acting. Another Buster Keaton degree is that in 1966 I live in Woodland Hills, CA when he died~I thought he died at the Woodland Hills Motion Picture home, but his bio doesn't say where he died. It's connected to a hospital~the name has been changed. But whether it was the home or the hospital in Woodland Hills, it's the same building~I've been there many times. I remember my family saying that Buster Keaton was old and that it was his time. But today 70 is not old, then it was. Thank you Jordan, you really are an incredible person to keep the memory of Buster Keaton and James Karen alive. I will forever be grateful to you.

Thank goodness for vloggers like you that do keep memories alive! I agree 100% that there should be some sort of recognition from the town, but with any luck there will be someone watching that can make a difference. I can't wait to see more tomorrow. On a side note, that makes me so sad about the Mae West memorabilia. I was actually thinking about that vlog recently because Tim held such a wonderful collection. At least we have your vlog to remember it.

When I was a little kid in the 1950's, I watched Buster Keaton movies on television. Even back then, I recognized his talent and was so impressed with his physical comedy. He was truly amazing and I can only imagine now what kind of a toll it took on his body as he got older. He's been a favorite of mine for 60 years now, and my second favorite would be Jackie Chan who is cut from the same cloth.

Oh how fun was this vlog?? Who knew the state of Kansas had a Museum for Buster Keaton & the one and only Museum in the world for Keaton. Keaton was known as “Old stone face” a bunch of memorabilia in the building. Covering all aspics of his acting career how cool is that?? I love a nice little modest building covering the long ago star’s career. Take care y’all🌹🌺🌸🌼🌷🥁🎸🎶🎵⭐️🌪✨🌻🌻👩🏻‍💻

I vaguely remember this Buster Keaton anecdote. Fred Astaire was filming a dance scene where he's trapped in a small room or closet with a wild animal (lion? tiger?) outside the door, and they couldn't figure out how to get Astaire free. So they called Keaton for ideas. He suggested that Astaire take out the door hinge bolts, and use the now-freed door as a shield to walk behind as he left the room. Something like that. Anyone else remember this? Was it actually in a Fred Astaire movie? That classic Keaton scene where the building wall falls over him is both frightening and genius.

I don’t think many people know about Buster Keaton as he was from Hollywood’s playful post-vaudeville early comedy era. Even Vaudeville itself isn’t something many know about unless they had some exposure to it or knowledge of it growing up. Fortunately, my 94-year-young dad was born in 1924 and loved Keaton and Chaplin growing up. So, he passed his knowledge and appreciation of this history along to me. But, as a tail-end baby boomer, I wouldn’t have ever known about Keaton if my dad hadn’t been a kid when vaudeville and early Hollywood had merged care of people like Keaton. It is sad that Hollywood never even acknowledged Keaton for all that he brought forth and influenced in the early part of the industry regardless of his faults. Seems like Chaplin ended up receiving the accolades of remembrance. Thanks Jordan in educating people about this early talent!

Oh wow, what a fantastic little museum! Buster Keaton in my opinion, was a comedic genius in the silent s movie industry followed by Charlie Chaplin and Harold Lloyd. Hopefully now because of your vlog, more people will go and visit the museum. And speaking of museums, in downtown Kennesaw, Georgia there is a museum that has the actual train from The General. Thank you Jordan for your passion and for your dedication to your vlogs. It shines through you!

Maybe, hopefully, the reason there's not much in this museum, or another museum, is that his family, friends, and the studios are holding on to what mementos they have of him. I'm not a big silent film fan, but you gotta love Buster! What few movies I have seen of him I have enjoyed immensely. Thanks for showing us the museum and helping to preserve a bit of history.

The squares you are seeing around town are quilt squares. In a lot of parts of the country people have started putting huge ones on their barns, all different, and making maps so people can go on road trips to see the quilt squares. The town might have a map for people to go around and see the quilt squares. Quilting is having a resurgence in popularity that started in 1976 for the bicentennial and has continued on since then.

Loved this, and thank you sincerely for paying (further) homage to one of the true greats. As you said , we need to appreciate that at least there is this. But it is indeed, very saddening that Buster Keaton's place in history and as a pioneer in film-making (and comedy in particular) may be slipping away. His work from the silent era is still as strong as it was then, and also reveals the genius of an artist whose innovations and comedic "bits" became the standard, set the bar, and have been appropriated and incorporated by others ever since.

The Kino Lorber BlueRay editions of Buster’s films are outstanding. One of my favorite moments from his career has always been the scene in “Limelight” with Buster and Charlie Chaplin together. Almost hard to believe that right there were the two greatest figures in early motion picture history on the screen together for the first and only time as far as I know. Too bad it came so late in both of their careers…

'The Art of Buster Keaton' is a rich treasure trove, as are the Arbuckle & Keaton video releases. The latter really showcase how gifted Roscoe (Fatty) was as a performer. Also great was Al St. John, who completed Arbuckle's 'Roughhouse Trio'.
