Bisection method - idea and intro

In this video, we introduce the Bisection method. There are no examples or algorithm. The next two videos will cover the algorithm and an example.

"Assuming that f(x) is continuous on some interval [a,b] and inside the interval there exists a number r such that f(r) = 0, then f(a) and f(b) have different signs". Try f(x) = x^2, you'll see that's a fallacy.

Also, for any m within [a,b] you can write [a,b] in only the two following ways: [a,m)U[m,b] or [a,m]U(m,b]. Just trying to make the video more rigorous.

but when if fa and fb is positive and we have a root. like if function is tangetial to the axis ? please anyone can reply ?
