So far you have survived 100% of your worst days and surviving and making it through today is enough and for that I am proud of you. Don't compare yourself to others, your success is your own. You are here and that will always be enough. As I always say you are amazing, your feelings are valid and you are loved.

the 'you are here and that will always be enough' just hits REALLY hard. Thank you... So much for this. I've been having a lot of moments recently where I just feel like I'm not broken like "broken and can be fixed" but more like "broken like a scar that can't heal" and hearing this, even from a stranger, is one of the best feelings I've had in a while. Thank you. So much.

I hate the ones that mention us being cheaters or not being able to commit or the assumptions that try to dictate who we are and are not able to find attractive. I'm bisexual myself and I have always been attracted to trans and enby people. I can't stand when someone tells me that means I'm pansexual. I chose the label bisexual and I'm happy with it. It's my label, so that's really all that matters. No one else gets a say in that, whether they like it or not. I really think people outside of the bi+ community just need to let us speak for ourselves because we know ourselves best.

Yep, I'm so over people who aren't bi telling me what my sexuality means! All the "you have a preference; you feel attraction differently to different genders; gender factors into your attraction"- no, bi is only about WHO you're attracted to, not HOW. That list doesn't mean "bi", it just means "not pan"- loads of bi people DON'T have a preference, & so on. "Bi" already had a simple definition long before pan came into existence, & you can't suddenly change it & make it really specific- anyone who's attracted to multiple genders can say they're bi, or identify as something more specific. Pan people can define their _own_ sexuality all they like, ofc; that's up to them, but they can't say _only_ they fit that definition, & _no_ bi people fit it.

Also, regarding the assumption that a bisexual person would need partners of different genders: Imagine that someone were only attracted to women and that this person liked blonde women and black haired women. Does that mean that this person needs a black haired and a blonde girlfriend, just because they are attracted to both hair colours?

Just a thought but does finding someone visually appealing necessarily mean that you find them attractive sexually or are you just appreciative of their appearance. I can find a lot of people visually appealing but it doesn't necessarily mean I'm attracted to them they are just visually appealing. Like I would look at a person's body and find them visually appealing the same way that I would look at some nice cars and find them visually appealing. I'm not necessarily attracted to the person and I'm definitely not attracted to the car but I appreciate the aesthetics. I personally would not necessarily say that looking at a person and thinking they look hot or attractive is necessarily you being attracted to them you just appreciate their physique. I can look at a person and have admiration for their body but I don't necessarily feel any attraction towards them whatsoever in the slightest.
@mistypeterpants

We in the asexual community call that aesthetic attraction. You can like looking at something or someone without it being inherently sexual.
@colleengase6369

I always define this as "attractive" vs "attracted." I've had people who I think aesthetically are definitely attractive but for whatever reasons, I'm not attracted and also people who I'm attracted to that don't fit my normal definition of attractive. I know people talk about aesthetic and romantic attractions being separate from sexual attractions as well, so it's definitely possible to feel differently about all of it.
@UlexiteTVStoneLexite
@UlexiteTVStoneLexite 2 жыл бұрын
@@mistypeterpants yeah that was what I was thinking. I would consider myself Demi because while I am very attracted to my husband I would have to say that I'm attracted to him because of the relationship we formed and the genuine attraction is only there because our relationship is already there especially when considering we met each other online when video chat wasn't a thing and when we first met each other we were both in that really weird awkward teenage phase we are body doesn't know where it's going yet and you're still growing into your body. He wasn't unattractive but I would definitely make the argument that he was attractive because he was my love interest purely from a deeper friendship development. He is sexy and attractive because he is my partner seems like more of what is going on. Other people can be physically more attractive but it doesn't mean that there's remotely the chance of any actual attraction going on.

Hey Shaaba and fellow Shaaba watchers! I have been watching you since I realised I was gay and your videos always make my day. I had been thinking of something, and maybe other queer or GNC people living in Asia can relate..? So I don't like dressing femininely, to the point that wearing makeup or sarees have made me really upset before, and ended up in me leaving parties early. Now, my parents want me to wear saree and lehanga more often for family meets, but I am really uncomfortable with them. They say that not wearing saree will make me lose touch with my culture, and I don't want that. Also going to a traditional meet or puja wearing a t-shirt and jeans make me really stand out. Do y'all have any suggestions on gender neutral but traditional Indian clothes?

I currently identify as pan, but lately I feel like I might be bi or omni, or just something else... Even though I'm not out to many people it feels like I'm lying to them, and it's honestly been causing me a bit of stress lately. I know that everyone's relationship with their sexuality is different, but is it bad if I feel like the term pan is a little inaccurate for me, but I still identify with it? For some reason saying I'm bi doesn't sit right, though saying I'm omni is okay, but still feels strange after saying I'm pan for like 6 months. Also think I might be on a the ace spectrum, but that feels different. I love your sweater btw Shaaba 😘

Figuring out who you are is a journey and you should always use whatever terms make you feel the most comfortable at the time. I'm bi but I realized a little while ago that I don't think I ever wanna date a guy again. I have a lot of trouble trusting men from experiences I've had and it made me question should I change what identification I use even though my attraction is still true just to make it easier for other people. As someone who's always considered it no one else's business what my orientation is unless I'm dating them, it's giving me time to figure it out.

Your attraction is a difficult thing to get right first time, it's often complex. I was out as ace for a full year before I realised (over the period of about a month) that I was aro too. You're not lying to people, you're still figuring yourself out. That's OK, it happens to a lot of LGBTQ+ people. What I would do for now is take only the labels you feel comfortable with. If that's bi, fine. If that's pan, fine. If that's omni, fine. If that's ace, fine. If that's something else, fine. If that's multiple of the above, fine. If that's no label at all, fine. Let it sit for a while, these things tend to work themselves out over time. Take and discard labels as it feels right to do so. Not having a label is also a perfectly valid option.

the definition if bisexual is actually attraction to more than one gender, saying the definition is the same gender and a different invalidates bisexuals who aren't attracted to their own gender (for example: nonbinary person attracted to men and women) and also invalidates bisexuals who are attracted to more than two genders (for example: man attracted to men, women, and nonbinary people)

I think that when people say that being bi "helps" attraction towards trans people, they don't mean to be invalidating (except the bigots obvi). As a bi woman, I have said the same but I see it more as an ease with the sexual aspect. Of course everyone is originally attracted to the outside looks of someone, but if a straight person wants to sleep with a trans person, pre bottom surgery, that could be complicated due to them not being attracted by that genitalia you know ? That's why I mean personally when I say that it does kind of make it easier for bi people. Of course this opinion is no size fits all, but I hope that I've made sense 😅

I do so many bisexual things. Does being Vers count for bisexual points? I'm a very gay man, have considered myself very gay for a long time. I am alright with they series pronouns, but prefer masculine pronouns most days (am flattered when I hear neutral pronouns still) .... I got off track .. I also have been attracted to a couple non-binary folks, so in that sense maybe I'm bi-adjacent. I'm not picky about assigned sex at birth, but that doesn't have to do with anything. Irdk. I'm a 5.9 on the kinsey scale of the *gender* I'm attracted to, but that system is so diadist that maybe I could still manage to be bi?? I wonder if being Vers does add bisexual points.

I think the reason for people assuming that bi people are cheaters is that they thinkyou're attracted to both genders and because of that in a relationship with one person you're missing out on the other gender. Especially since bi can be attracted to gender markers, one person can never fit all those things. In the end that's just bull regardless because even if you're attracted to blue eyes and black hair and your boyfriend only has black hair, you're not missing out on the blue eyes , sry for the weird analogy. But I heard someone explain it like that before

just wanna say that commitment does not equal monogamy! not that i think shaaba was trying to imply it does, but just the phrasing that was used is so frickin common that “of course bisexual people can commit! i’m bisexual & i’m in a monogamous relationship.” when in reality whether or not your relationship is defined as monogamous has absolutely nothing to do with how committed you are to your partner. monogamous relationships can & frequently do fall apart. also polyamorous relationships can last just as long or even longer than some monogamous ones. polyamorous people can also get married & have life partners! also worth pointing out that polyamorous relationships are not afforded the same legal rights in most cases that a monogamous married couple would be since marriages & civil unions typically only allow for two people. even if you’ve been living with two partners for decades you still cannot have them both legally recognized as your spouse in most cases. so this image of polyamorous couples being less committed is even more unfair with the context of the same access to marriage & rights that come along with it not being given. not that marriage is equal to commitment either of course, but it is one of the only ways to secure certain rights within a long term relationship. okay i’ve said my piece, just wanted to make that clear because polyamory gets a lot of similar stereotypes to bisexuality of being noncommittal, indecisive, or just downright greedy which is just as inaccurate as it is for bisexuals. & the equivalence that people so often make without even thinking about it of commitment = monogamy is frustrating at best & stigmatizing/harmful at worst.

If you know you can be with one gender in a committed relationship, why is it wrong to fantasise about women when you have a boyfriend? Unless you think you should never fantasise about _anyone_ other than your partner, I literally cannot see the problem, especially when your boyfriend's bi too- he knows being attracted to men doesn't mean he'll cheat on you with a man, so I doubt he'd think you're going to cheat on him with a woman just cos you're attracted to them & fantasise about them sometimes. Maybe he fantasises about men- I dunno if you've talked about it, but if so, he's even less likely to think you'll cheat. Fantasies are exactly that, just fantasies- it doesn't mean you want to act them out... So yeah, I dunno why you want to break up with him, or why you think you'll become a bi stereotype, if you're never going to cheat??? I'm afraid I'm not Shaaba, lol- & I agree, she IS very awesome!- but I'm bi too, 45 & had quite a few relationships, committed & otherwise, & just... if I commit to someone, which has only been with guys, that means I won't be with ANYONE else- women OR other guys; their gender is irrelevant cos they're not my partner. I don't magically stop fantasising about other people tho, & that doesn't make me a cheater; any more than fantasising about Mediaeval battles (I'm weird ok) makes me a murderer... Ok, I'll shut up, lol- I was just sad to think of someone turning down a lovely guy when they know they're not going to cheat on him, just cos they fantasise about women sometimes- which their boyfriend might not even care about. Hope it all works out whatever you decide! :) :)

Well, you were saying you aren't a chill person and suddenly there was a loud sound and I thought maybe your phone fell and you said it was your arm and I was like wHAAAT but you were 100% chill about it so I think the assumption might be true after all :D

You and Jamie only have one cat, therefore only one of you can be bisexual. I'm sorry these are the rules now apparently 🤣

I tried to sign up for this pride counselling , even with financial aid its 144£ a month. I am in the situation where I am choosing between paying bills and eating. I've lost 2 stone in 2ish months and I feel like my world is falling down around me this is exactly the time I could do with them. But my monthly income is £940 , my out goings this month will be around £1400 and I have no idea where I am going to get the difference from. My mental health is shit. Anyways My point is i really really wish I had the money for the counselling but even with the financial aid it's way to expensive for me. Maybe one day ♡

@@TheReadingWren I'm on a waiting list for my local area but they said 6ish month minimum before I am seen. Which is great for me in 6 months , I'll get some help hopefully, but doesn't help now , you know what I mean?

I think one of the issues I had with my former husband was that he thought there would be more threesomes than what there actually was when he found out that I am bi/pan... none, there were none. Then he started to accuse me of cheating. I am the monogamous sort. I am very happy that I can now call him my ex.

5:35 OMG that is SO CUTE! "Jammiesexual" 🤩🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍 7:55 Me too lol I'm so confused I confuse other people LOL! I had 2 of my friends wondering what was going on and where their dogs were because I got their dog's names mixed up, it was hilarious 🤣🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🐶😲 8:45 ... "beans in your pants"???? Jumping beans? That one threw me a bit Shaaba, what does that mean? 🤔 10:10 I was just talking about this to my partner tonight. We were watching a show about asexuality and I told him about the stigma around bi as well. He said he never thought about it before. So I schooled them a bit. I told them that just because a person is bi doesn't mean they want to be with "EVERYONE", that they are just as picky as any other spectrum of people out there👍 11:10 (and the whole minute following timestamp) I can SO agree with the whole movie part! I have everything, and yeah, MIB 3 and Twilight, I couldn't pick a side! Thank you Shaaba! I loved this video, I learned a few more things like why you roll up your sleeves! lol (I do too hehe) Much love and have a great week and weekend! 👏💖
