It is with profound joy and gratitude to God that the Diocese of Scranton would like to extend a special invitation to all faithful to participate in an incredibly special event this coming November.
On November 16, we will hold a Rosary Rally at the Cathedral of Saint Peter in Scranton at 1:30 p.m. to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the first Rosary Rally held in the United States by Father Patrick Peyton. That event occurred in Scranton in 1949, which is why this milestone is so significant for our community.
In the weeks leading up to this event, Bishop Bambera is also asking every parish to join in a Diocesan Rosary Crusade - which might include holding a Holy Hour for an increase in family prayer, celebrating a Mass for an increase in family prayer or encouraging families to pledge to pray the rosary. More information will be forthcoming - but information can be found online right now at ScrantonPrays.org or DioceseofScranton.org.
