I'M NOT CRYING, YOU ARE. I love you all. Thank you for being so supportive during this particularly painful and sensitive time. I wrote "Someone Else" about feeling overwhelmed by existing in the world. I texted Jacob Banks this dream I had of hearing his voice on this song. Within a few hours he sent back a version of him singing along to the track full of his iconic vocal tone that you really only come across once or twice in your lifetime if you are lucky. I began tearing up within seconds of hearing his voice in the intro of the song. Jacob has one of those voices that you read about in the music history books. He is among the voices that will stand the test of time and have the ability to take your breath away. I hope you feel comfort and warmth. I hope in the process of this release I do too.

When I found bishop she changed my life. She gave me strength. Her music is so unique because of her voice, her choice of instruments, her melodies and her lyrics. you don’t even understand how much this album has helped me. this is such a stunning version of this song. i was physically assaulted by someone i considered the love of my life. my world was completely shattered, i couldn’t function. i was just a shell, going through the motions. and this album came out literally a week after it happened. this album understood me when i couldn’t explain what i was going through to those around me. i felt like you looked into my life and wrote songs about those snapshots. it’s been over a year now, and in my opinion i’ve just now “come back to life”. the world is slowly getting less overwhelming, i’m figuring things out. if anyone else is going through something like this, please stay here. things will eventually be easier to deal with, and you will get through it. therapy, music, and friends have been so helpful in my recovery. it isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. you’re worth it.

Of something. Yeah, that. Obviously. However, it doesn't have to be that pain, specifically. Ironically, dissociation is associated with Sexual abuse, but it's not even close to limited to that. White dude rage, as a complete polar opposite, dissociates themselves from their guilt. "I don't have anything to feel guilty about!" I'm not in denial, you are! This is a very human song. However, it's painful to listen to. Painful to face. Which is why it's sung duet, back to back. There is someone right there, who could understand, because they're literally singing the same song, but all they want to do is "Be alone. By myself..."
