How do you ascertain that the people relieved of their jobs where "called by God". There was opening for pastoral enlistment, they applied and was employed. U should be effective in doing what is expected of u in the job u where employed in. If there where "called", they would have performed better. Or they would not have acted so disgruntled when they where sacked. They will rest there case because God will fight for them. But they didn't. Making one question their calling. Also I believe that the evidence of a calling is result. Of course results that would stand the test of time. Result which they failed to deliver. U should know up to a thousand people where employed the same time as this 40 people sacked.

I know great works of God that have produced not one convert for years until God an opportuned time. Now millions are saved for their patient, persistent work. The only snag I'd cut would be ' the environment'. It's probably in a Christian environment. If they work in an unchristian environment, years may pass before significant converts are made. Six months may be too small a time. No money is too big to spend for salvation of a soul. If it's God's instructions to dismiss them, who can question that? If it's just organizational impatience with supposed unproductivity, then it might not be following God's pattern. May God help his church. Amen

We can never be satisfied. 7000 trained Pastor's sent out to the harvest field and 100 of them now sacked for lack of performance, its now an issue, daddy like you rightly said they don't understand us. Pls let's not misunderstand or confuse what the bishop is saying and I know we have this kind of mentality of Jesus Christ as a too much loving nice person, it's true but Christ also demands competency and faithfulness in his kingdom, remember Jesus is a king, not a president. But at the same time that doesn't mean they cannot get their jobs back, if they get back into competency and effective management again they can still get hired back. The Bible was clear that the bringing in of souls is not because of the works of any man. If these men were committing sin, by all means sack them but it's inappropriate to play "God" because only God really knows who is fruitful and who is unfruitful. Only God can actually state that someone is a blatant failure in His work. No man has the ability to see or know this so it would be playing God to give such a judgement because He alone knows what's being done. The only fruits man can see that can make us term someone as "unfruitful"- although God will say "Wicked"- is sinful activities that are visible. In fact, the Bible warned that having a large number of followers is a wrong yardstick for measuring fruitfulness. This was why we were warned that in the last days, people would go after pastors that preach what they want to year- things that satisfy the flesh. So, it means that all these men had to do was preach things that tickle the ear, and members would troop in. Finally, I'll end with a bible verse that goes thus: Paul PLANTED, Apollos WATERED but GOD (alone) GAVE THE INCREASE! Will God be sacked for not giving the increase? Can God be questioned for not giving the increase? Selah!

But that is particularly not to say they have failed as pastors or to be branded as failures. It seems what each mission defines as “pastor” is unique to the mission. They can go on to do great things in the kingdom. If you consider the matter more objectively and deeply, you will agree that the one who says they shouldn’t be fired isn’t also wrong with his view. The one who says it’s God who brings an increase isn’t also wrong with his spiritual view. Of course there are still many questions that may help our understanding in making a better judgment: Were the pastors putting in the work? What was the selection process of the church that made them pastors? Was this selection process predicated on God’s choice? Did the pastors fail to deliver on their other duties? Were there performance appraisal meetings with the pastors, how many before the termination? What’s the spiritual and social nature of the environment they were operating in and the resources available to them? ... I’m not saying appointed ministers cannot be lazy in their duties and as it is, we may say that they’ve failed according to Winners’ measure but there is much more involved than for anyone to regard them as failed pastors in the “Body of Christ” or according to God’s measure.

When you follow statistics on different modules (like criticism on individual) You would discover somethings very interesting (I would say) 1. If you award a scholarship to group of people and make it public, for every 9 people who hears it they will be 1 person who will criticize openly. 2. We aren't done yet, remember we have 36 + 1 states in this nation and as one who has travelled wide, I can estimate at the very least 5 living faith churches per state, put these earnings together. The tuitions from covenant university and the other one (don't know the name), then the faith academies in different states..... Then tell me how salaries can't be paid. Now, please don't get me wrong sir, am not the antagonist here, am just presenting you with factual estimated data. The church today grosse billions year in year out ALL WITHOUT TAX, incase you have forgotten. The question here is overlooked because people prefer to overlook a problem just to sing praises of their leaders..... if the church should possess the power to hire and fire pastors, it means it is an organisation that runs with a complex structure and should also pay taxes. If 40 pastors are “unfruitful”, would be best to check internally especially the leadership. An organization where 40 senior managers are termed as non performing would have deeper underlying issues. Having said this, only God knows those who are fruitful in his vineyard. Many seeds are sown in secret and it is only God who can reward or punish his servants justly.

Why are People quick to criticize the senior Pastor and try to defend those Pastors who have been sacked. The man of God has the Spirit of God in Him and am sure he prayed before taking that decision to let them go and get people that are ready to do the work faithfully. The work of God is not an employment of the Government that you can just be there without doing what you are called to do and then get paid for it. I think it is about time the Overseers wake up and get those non-serious people out of the way and put those people who are called by God and are serious about God's work to do the work. @@igoramadi635 Not everyone that is called is fruitful. Jesus has 12 disciples, how many of their names were prominent in the Acts of Apostles and in the Epistles? You can be called and not be fruitful if you're not doing what you're asked to do faithfully. There's been ordained people that backslided, doesn't mean they weren't called, no, they just weren't faithful.

@@aluoc2000 every disciple of Christ was fruitful, the reason why we think some people are not fruitful is because we think as humans which is okay because it is our nature and God already knows that we are all useless, all of us are useless, no one is doing God’s affairs , God is doing himself, I will say That Jesus has done everything, we are just collecting the fruits. So everyone has his own talent, the problem is us , we qualify people according to our needs, our spiritual power, no all the disciples of Jesus were spiritually power and full of knowledge but Jesus who chose them knew that where each one were useful. You may have a brother who seems to be weak, no intellect, no power, no nothing but trust me if he passes away then you will miss his strength, his power, his qualities etc…
