Awesome, this truly is the Evangelical Charismatic tradition returned to Apostolic teaching, and bringing with it all the good it has inherited therefrom.

Yes. I'm trying to start a CEC in my hometown. This may be the closest thing man can get to the true catholic church.

@@legacyandlegend I attend an Anglican Catholic Church which theologically and missionally is quite similar when done right (many of the bishops that founded our denomination {though it is important to note that it was not originally a denomination in it of itself, but the mainline stopped adhering to the inspiration of scripture in the strict sense which caused an automatic ceasing of communion according to our canons on a church-by-church basis} converted from evangelical denominations, and they still have a lot of those same sensibilities), though some of our churches look like military installations as one Orthodox priest who got trapped in reformational England once said.

Actually, I think I saw that CEC bishops attended one of our synods recently, but I absolutely love the church service because growing up I would pingpong between a bible fellowship church and a more traditional anglican one. This is one of the few cases of high theology but contemporary worship done right, which neither feels forced (like it's trying to sell something all the time) nor does it feel like a museum. Nor, also, does it feel like it is from another continent, though it clearly has threads that reach to the global and ancient faith in its liturgy. It is clearly a product of the American church in a unique way that is rare to find in other denominations (though I know it is global) due to its unique formation. It is fitting that a church which is charismatic would discover the value in the epiclesis and the charisms passed from Pentecost to now through the succession of the apostles while retaining what they have learned from those charisms available to all the faithful, which we were reminded of in the shadow of the darkness and faithlessness of cessationist theology at Azusa street.

@omeganinjaboy I almost became anglo-catholic. What stopped me was I don't agree with female priests and I don't like the idea of how diverse anglicanism is. I like doctrinal unity in a church. Also I was raised pentecostal, so I've always been charismatic. Anglo catholics are a great denomination though.

Why is it phony? The CEC's apostolic succession comes from an orthodox line. It's valid.
