Confession, at least once every two weeks, asap if in a state of mortal sin. Rosary every day, and it's always good to thank god, or ask him for help from time to time. This should be a standard for all Catholics.

Every Catholic should pray the Divine Office (Monastic, Extraordinary Form, Liturgy of the Hours - whatever you prefer) as it's the official prayer of the Church. I love the Rosary but it simply is not the official prayer of the Church nor part of the Liturgy.

Great message I'm a new Catholic used to be a Protestant. This struck me as odd as the message was keep watching and don't be asleep, but it sounded like he was bored to tears. Not trying to be rude I'm just stating my opinion. I always wonder what Jesus meant about it being better to be cold or hot than lukewarm and if it applies to the message when it's being preached or if it just applies to how we live out our faith. After all it was a message to a church. I believe I know what it means I am willing to remain teachable. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

What he was saying was very profound. That most Catholics dont live their lives as they should. They say they believe in life everlasting but they dont truly live their lives like they could die tomorrow.

This is just how Bishop Morlino spoke. He was very serious and deliberate with his words. Watch some of his interviews that are on youtube from EWTN. It is just his manner of speaking. The positive side is that he was very easy to understand in a Church that has an echo. Too many priests and bishops speak too quickly and in a large church with echos it is very hard to understand what is being said.

03.Dec.2018 Greetings in Christ, This homily speaks about watchfulness and says we have to watch and guard the mysteries of God or the Church. We cannot do anything apart from Jesus, and we will be cut off from the vine to be thrown out if we do not produce good fruits that being the case, inferring that we watch the church or the mysteries is not correct, but God alone watch over all of us at all the times. Yes, we have to watch ourselves and we are the owners of our own free will. To the maximum, we can pray for others when someone errs or politely corrects them if they are inclined to listen. What is required of us is the way we conduct our lives with humility, prayer, and charity that serves as a real proclamation of the gospel and a correction to others. Here the homilist seems to suggest that we have to guard the church which is under attack from all directions, yes, that is not by correcting or accusing other sinners and attacking the Pope and arraigned priests, that is like the action of Pharisees who declared their own holiness by pointing out the lapses and sins of others. Church had been under attack since its inception and will be so till the end of the world as Christ said, but it will always be victorious against those attacks by the virtue of its head being Jesus The real God and real man incarnate. The gates of hell cannot overpower the gates of heaven, and the gatekeeper is Peter to whom the keys of heaven are entrusted by Jesus. Many misguided priests and Prelates in the U.S. are provoking the people in the pretext of guarding the church to attack the gate of heaven itself by attacking the gatekeeper Peter the Pope. We have to give an account of our own life, how we were watchful to save our soul from sin and what we stored in heaven as wealth by doing real acts of mercy and charity at the end of our lives. Pl don’t get to mislead by the hardliners who point the fingers on other’s sin and make us forget about our own miserable state of the soul. All who are in this Catholic church, be aware that your disobedience to holy father and revolt against the Church will only take you downhill into perdition and won’t allow you to find the narrow path of carrying the cross and reaching the summit of heaven by real faith, obedience, and charity. Pl read again the final questions going to be asked by Jesus at the judgment seat to all those faithful people who claim to know Jesus during their lifetime.

Before his death Bishop Morlino released a scathing pastoral letter in August 18, accusing Holy Father about sexual scandal among clergy in US. that was unwarranted and not based on truth but on assumptions fueled by media as well haters of Holy See and Vatican. Obedience should be, by example and should preceed any preaching to others. Pl. read the Bible passage on how God punished Miriyam elder sister of Moses with leprosy for her disobedience, rather revolt against Moses.God said to Miriyam and Aaron that they should obey Moses as they obey God. Also read about how David revered the bad King Saul throughout his life and refused to revolt or harm King Saul , who wanted to kill David , because of David's reverence to God's anointment of Saul in the first place. When Saul died in the war , David did not rejoice at the demise of his enemy Saul , but wept bitterly for him with love and sorrow. Obedience is a mandate , not a choice in the matters of Authority vested by God concerning His Mystical body " The Church " Let us not swayed by media and wrong probaganda on these matters concerning the church, but stay faithful with acts of mercy and charity as nobody enters heaven only with a lamp of faith (Protestants are misleading all in this point as " Sola Fide " ) but should take along the oil of charity to qualify entering the heavenly banquet. @@danamalar It was not a scathing letter. I read it twice. It was honest and reverent. It called out for holiness and honesty in dealing with the homosexual scandal occuring in our Church. You are confusing accepting Pope Francis's ruling on our Churches teachings and all of the other nonsense he is speaking. In my 58 years I have never seen a more confused leader than Pope Francis. Now even his teachings and decisions on very important matters seem compromised. Like bowing to the Chinese communists. Allowing those in mortal sin to receive Holy Communion.

@@colleenposadas8415 Calling a pope as speaking nonsense and addressing him as like a political leader and criticising all his actions is unethical and detrimental to one's soul and salvation. He need not get approval from all who criticize him for his actions. Every Pope was opposed , even before your birth , read the church history. the dream of Don Bosco describes the battle of the Pope and his victory. You can re read it. Those who opposed the Pope were vanquished as per the prophetic dream.

@@danamalar Some wonder if there were not immoral dealings prior to his election. I am not convinced of this but I watch carefully what he is doing and saying. He during his first year said we need need speak out about the sin of abortion. That we cant tell homosexuals what they do is wrong. That we must allow remarried Catholics receive communion? You speak in broad generalities. You dont answer specifics. He definately has made confusing teachings. He seems to be further covering up the sins of homosexuality even in our own Church, by Cardinals? Bishops? You think that is right?
