Welcome back Larry, great to see the Bismarck make an appearance on the channel, that book you have in regards of the illustrations is gold.. really is gold, your going with the Baltic scheme? Sweet idea, and the idea of covering up the you-know-whats is also fantastic, but you know.. if you wanted to do a scheme with the ship on it's operations you can always not use the you-know-whats.. when I did the Gneisenau I did the ship on it's 1940 Norway operations but I never used the you-know-what on the ship. My brother in law is working on his first ever 1/200 warship and he's going with the Scharnhorst, he's not using the dreaded emblem but it's looking fantastic regardless. We.. ..shall we say have.. made the Kriegsmarine flagships but have taken out the thing that made them what they were originally, it's artistic licence also if look at it like that. Anyway welcome back, your going to make a truly magnificent work of art with this one, stay safe Larry and happy modelling mate.

Oh it’s going to have them in real life, I will cover them as much as possible to not get any flags on the channel, but I want to have accuracy, and it’s an unfortunate part of history. It doesn’t mean I support the meaning or the movement, but it was a definite part of the history of the ship and the world. With out history people forget so I think it’s important to acknowledge that history.

@@LCModelBuilding Yeah I know what you mean and please don't misunderstand me, I do respect that choice.. it's not that I'm getting the wrong end of the stick.. far from it, it's that I know it's a sensitive topic that a lot of people have difficulty with, your a real mighty ace to have the emblem, far stronger than me so well done.. that's a great deal of strength indeed. Your going to make a work of art with this one, I really do wish you all the very best, happy modelling my friend.

@@joeaustin4472 no worries. I get it. It’s controversial. It was my only real debate in my head whether or not to even do the build, but like I side I think it’s part of history.

Looking forward to the build as I have the KA detail set also and it will be interesting to see how you approach it. I have the scale decks too and imho they are vastly superior to the KA provided one (should be too given the price!). It will obviously be more of a pain to fit, but I just love the look of them. Good luck!

@@barry-clark thanks. I’m 99% sure I’ll got with the scale decks also as I have on pretty much all my other builds. The biggest thing I’m trying to figure out now though is my approach for this hull. I used pre cut hull plates on my titanic build but of course this doesn’t have the same aftermarket so I’m either going to have it make them myself or scribe them. I’m sure I’ll figure it out soon though lol

@@LCModelBuilding Just need to convince Neil that he should expand his under hull plating kit to other Trumpeter ships. 🙂

Hey Larry, just a heads up: what you called "RADAR" were the covers for the funnel searchlights.

@LCModelBuilding that's sweet. I made my own 1/200 rc scratch built Bismarck it's also about 50 inches but the beam is MUCH wider that this one. About 14 inches
