There is a three position switch that determines just how much solution the machine will put down in a given time period ,, The max position at the top is designed to absolutely fire hose down a ton of solution into a seriously dirt embedded carpet .blasting down quite a bit more then other carpet cleaners out there other then a commercial machine will put down, this and will both empty your solution tank and fill your recovery tank quite quickly , The middle position is what I use most normal cleaning , and the bottom position is for use on a very lightly soiled carpets you want to dry very quickly , a lot of people think that they need to use max for regular cleaning then get upset at just how much solution the machine is going through and how often they have to empty the recovery tank .

THANK YOU for showing a gross couch. It gives me a much better idea what the machine can do than the manufacturer's videos. Another advantage to owning versus renting is that you don't have to go pick it up at the rental, drag it home, hurry 'cause the clock is clicking, take it back, and then return home again dealing with traffic. Its hard to put a price on that.

I always comment this on carpet cleaning videos (because I’m a nerd and I love watching them)... I highly advise rinsing your carpets with clean water (or possibly water with a little vinegar) to neutralize your carpets ph after using a basic (alkaline) cleaner. It definitely keeps my carpet cleaner longer. As for cleaning the couch, you can hand spray it with cleaner in a spray bottle and scrub with a brush, and then just use only hot water in the machine to rinse. When you use a cleaner and let the cleaner dry in the carpet then whenever that carpet gets wet again the carpet starts to act like a cleaning rag and grab any of the dirt it comes in contact with.

💫Just a hint regarding the dirty bucket capacity… you can actually remove the float and just vacuum normally, until the clean tank is totally depleted and you will find that the dirty tank has enough capacity to suck up the entire clean tank contents without overflowing. I have removed the float on my JetScrub and I LOVE emptying the tank half as often!!! Just a tip to make using this thing A LOT better!!!

I'm guessing you used the "max" setting, which uses far more water, hence it must be refilled much more often. The "deep clean" setting would be better for you carpet. It will still clean very well without drenching your carpet and it also dries much faster.
@ChristinasHome3 жыл бұрын

If yours is a current model it should have three settings. "Express clean" uses the least amount of water and most carpets dry within 1 hour. This is a good setting to maintain your carpets, or of they are not very visibly dirty.

Gr8 review Chris, TY for sharing! I just bought this product! It did a vg job on the carpets. Have yet to do any furniture. But now that I seen ur vid on how to, should be a breeze. I found however the 2X is a bit heavy, way too much for my back, esp after cleaning two 8X10' rooms. It dried up nicely tho and the carpets look fluffier and def clean. As for ur couch, got a tip for u guys, try a 1/3 cup of peroxide, 1 or 2 hits of dawn and finally sprinkle baking soda, let it sit for a good 15 min! Scrub & Vacuum afterwards, this formula works wonders, will remove any stain, or odors from anything, i.e. mattress, chairs, carpets, hope this helps! Thanks again Stay safe 💖🤘✌👊

@ChristinasHome2 жыл бұрын
The stain wasn’t from wine, it was coffee (I only clarify in case it matters for the type of stain, I’ve never had a wine stain, so I’m not sure how different it is for removing) I used a pre-treatment spray, but I didn’t use the pretreatment shot - I thought that was just shooting out the same water/cleaner mix as using the regular rollers on the cleaner… do you know if it possibly releases more of the cleaner with the little spot cleaner part? I hadn’t considered that! Luckily, I was able to get up the coffee stains with a few more soaks of the pretreatment spay & using the regular settings on the carpet cleaner.

@ChristinasHome2 жыл бұрын
It should be damp when you are finished - if it’s soaking wet, then you need to go back over it with the suction again, more slowly. Mine is almost fully dry by 4-6 hours. Your carpet should never be hard after shampooing, if it is that probably means you used too much soap and/or didn’t rinse it out good enough. If that happens, go back over it with water only (no soap/cleaner) and suck it up like normal, should fix it

@ChristinasHome2 жыл бұрын
I’m not familiar with that method at all. You shouldn’t have to do anything special to clean your carpet with a traditional carpet cleaner like this one, they are made to put water and cleaner down into the carpet & then suck it back out so that it doesn’t stay too wet. This takes about 4 hours to dry completely I would say

Hey Christina! I have a question, can I use it just to clean dust, dry not water?

So sorry I missed this question i don’t think it’s meant to be used dry, like a traditional vacuum, you would need a separate machine for that I believe

How do you shampoo the stairs, the stairs tool does not jet water out of it.
@ChristinasHome3 жыл бұрын
I don’t have stairs in my main home (only the basement) so I have not tried it but I would use the tool that I used on the couch for the stairs :) If you have any issues with the tool, check out that portion of the video again, it worked really well for the couch!

Sorry I missed your comment, if it is the same model as mine, it has 2 buttons that you press down (as shown in the video) If it doesn't have that, you may have a different model. Maybe check Bissell's website? (If yours is a Bissell)

You know, I’m not really sure. I would probably actually check the recommendations from the company you got the rug from, to see what they say about cleaning it. (That might be more helpful than looking up on the carpet cleaners website)

What is that black gunk between the head of the cleaner?

Typically dirt and hair & maybe even bits of carpet, make a black stringy looking mess any time you use a carpet cleaner

My machine leaves small black balls of residue on the carpet! Ideally it should be sucked into the dirty water tank! I had to vaccum afterwards to clean those! What am I doing wrong?
@ChristinasHome Жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong, it always does that. Especially if you have newer carpet, once you have cleaned the carpets a few times, it seems to be less. Typically though we just let it dry and then they can be picked up or vacuumed

So is the pre-treater only the little wand, or can you pre-treat with the main body floor unit as well? thanks
@ChristinasHome3 жыл бұрын
The wand is what is meant to do spots, we have a pre-treatment spray that you can put on before cleaning, so I guess in that sense you can use the entire machine to pre-treat? But I'm not sure if there is anything intended to do that, other than just the spot pre-treatment sprays.
@guidosarducci30473 жыл бұрын
@@ChristinasHome Thanks for the fast reply, I'm done with it now. It worked much better that the hoover at the same price. As to my question - yes you can use the machine to pre-treat an area or even the entire floor. Just leave it in the upright position and elevate the scrubber base off of the carpet while dispensing the cleaning solution. But as I've seen w/ this unit and others like it, including the hoover as soon as u begin to scrub it - it's already sucking up the cleaning solution. I don't know how it is now, but the old rug doctor rental units were able to scrub while leaving the carpet wet as long as you chose to scrub, then squeeze a handle to begin sucking up the solution when you are ready to do so. It makes cleaning much more efficient. I don't know of any model on the market at this time that's capable of doing that. Thank you and I appreciate your help.

I don’t about any of the models other than this one, but we have really enjoyed it. To my knowledge they all take a few hours for the carpet to dry, if you want it to dry the fastest possible, you can go over it with just the suction several times(rather than just once)

We bought this but doesn’t appear we are getting the amount of water to lay down and suck up that you are. I mean we cleaned every room and there is still almost a full container. Any thoughts on the water flow that should be expected? I was thinking we’d see a good water suction back into the dirty container but we aren’t. Any help would be awesome! Great video and review!!
@ChristinasHome2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it sounds like somethings going wrong with your machine… we couldn’t even do half of a small room without going through the tank.. my first thought would be to make sure you are walking very slow with it, beyond that, it’s hard to say what could be going wrong, without seeing it. Maybe try to trouble shoot by looking at your manual?

Sorry i have another question. Is the suction component of the vacuum always activated or only when you are not pressing the water trigger? Thanks
@ChristinasHome Жыл бұрын
I believe the suction is always active while it’s turned on, but the way the rollers are, it seems to work best when pulling the machine backwards. So you can’t really “vacuum” with it in the traditional sense - as it’s intended for you to be pulling the trigger (to release water) when moving forward & sucking up the water as you move in a backward motion - if that makes sense. (I get the question all the time if it can be used as a regular vacuum)

I would think, maybe just don’t fill it all the way up? I’m not sure how you would measure how much cleaner to put in. But You could use a spot treatment spray - and just spray that directly on the spot, instead of adding cleaner into the tank, that might work well also

Is it suppose to keep leaking water when you finish cleaning the room to go to another room?
@ChristinasHome2 ай бұрын
Sorry I missed your comment, it may leak because the whole bottom of the machine is wet after use. Also, if you have any solution left in the tank, that can leak in storage, so if we still have clean solution when we are done, we will take the solution tank out and store it upright, until we are ready to use the machine again.

Yeah they should move/roll when you push the machine … 🤔 if you bought it locally I would switch it out, otherwise maybe call the manufacturer.
