Best video I have seen searching for answers to my no spray problem. I have a model 9500 and this machine appears to be the same. A few things I learned the hard way. 1. Do not leave soap in the soap tank. Run clean water through the machine before you store it. Otherwise the soapy water will dry and the dried soap will clog the spray heads and lines. 2. The heater core is aluminum so the machine MUST be completely dry before you store the machine. The heater core will corrode if any water is in it when you store the machine. 3. The hose lines tear easily. BE CAREFUL removing them. I tore a stuck line going to a spray head and learned the 5.6 millimeter line (inside diameter) is very hard to find. I ended up using a quarter inch line which is a tad loose. I wrapped some electrical tape around the spray head outlet so the line was snug and would not leak. Most often spray problems are caused by 4 things. 1. The rubber outlet seal on the water tank has come loose and is stuck on the machine. If that happens the machine cant develop the suction to draw water from the tank. Just take the rubber seal and reset it on the water tank outlet (easy fix). 2. the spray heads or spray lines are clogged a need to be cleaned. 3. the solenoid flow regulator is not working properly (its the little blue thing to the left of the heater core when you are facing the front of the machine. (cheap part that costs a few dollars on amazon). 4. The heater core is plugged and needs to be cleaned (like in this video). If you see your heater core is corroded just throw it out and replace it. A new heater core on Amazon is about 25 dollars. Hope this video helps someone. It was frustrating having to learn this on my own. I searched through many videos before I found this one. Many thanks to this man for making it. Instead of having to spend hundreds of dollars on a new machine, I got mine working for about 40 dollars in parts. Like I said this video is the best one I have seen. Thanks again.

Thanks for the video. Our bissell had been stingy with the water output and then stopped putting out water altogether. I followed your directions to remove the heater (I too had to use vice grips on one rusted screw on the side) and found calcium buildup inside and even had to use a drill to clear calcium from inside one of the hose bibs. Took several hours in the middle of the night from video to back together, but this morning it is working as it should. Wife is happy (she slept through the trauma). I got lucky and checked the spray nozzles for clogs. I removed them from the machine and tried to blow through them and just got a small flow. Cleaned them out with a needle and the machine works fine. After looking at the problem, I realized the there is a way to diagnose the problem. Place the unit on a table with the brush(s) protruding over the edge. Place a wide trash can below the brushes. Turn on the machine. Pull the spray trigger. Determine if the machine is spraying anything. If it is, it is probably a clogged line. If it does not spray anything, it is probably something to do with the pump. On some models it could be a worn belt. The easiest thing to do first is to remove one of the spray nozzles and turn on the machine. If the flow shoots across the room, clear the clogged nozzles. Blow through them. Should almost whistle. Test the flow now. Last thing that you want to try, if none of this fixes the problem, check the heater for blockage. It's the hardest thing to get to, and if is not the problem, you've wasted a lot of time and frustration.

You need to remove the heater core and soak it in distilled white vinegar for a few hours or overnight. Repeat that until all the calcium carbonate and magnesium is dissolved and removed. I'm also wondering if the solenoids are pugged up with the hard water deposits. If they are downstream of the heater core then they may be bad and in need of replacement. What screws did you remove to get the cover off? The ones near the read where the water pump is fixed on the machine. I tried to remove the cover but could not get it off completely to get to the heater core. There were a few more screws that I needed to remove to complete the job. But it was midnight and I was too tired. I was planning on getting up at 5 to do some grocery shopping but nixed that idea and slept in. I have a few parts that I need to order. I saw on the Bissel Web site that they sell a new heater core. solenoids and a water pump which is the main components that may need to be replaced to get the machine to spray water. One thing I did that I should not have is to pour the pure Cleaning solution into the cleaning tank and not mix with any water. I read the directions of the cleaning solution bottle and it said to mix with water. And then I saw a Bissel video that said to fill the tank with water to a mark and then add the cleaning solution to the full line mark. But my machine didn't have a water line mark. But the directions on the Bissel Cleaning Solution said to use 1 full cup of water and then add the solution to the clean solution tank to the full mark. I'm not sure if I did that the first few times I used the machine. That was several years ago. I also have very hard water where I live and that can plug up the heater core easily. The design of the heater core is bad IMHO. They know it will need to be cleaned or replaced so they need to put it in a place where you can get to it without tearing the entire machine apart. They could use longer wires and longer hoses to accomplish that maybe?

I'm trying to find a video on this shampooers suction. Ours will spray without issue but when it comes time to suction the water up, it does a very poor job.

It has a clog somewhere
@swainer80144 жыл бұрын
I have three guesses provided it is the same or similar model as the one in this video. Make sure the diverter is set to floor and not to the hand tool. Make sure the red filter screen is clear (it in on the upper part of the water tank where the handle is) and also make sure that the overflow flap is not covering the red filter screen). Lastly to check for suction, leave the tank off, turn the vacuum on and see if there is suction at the rectangular port. If you don't have suction there. There is a little panel on the underside of the vacuum. make sure it is on securely. Good luck

Thank you for posting this video. I did everything you did, even cleaning the water heater. Wow! It was so clogged. However when i put it back together and started it there is still no water coming out. Well i should clarify the water sprayed for a solid 2 seconds and then stopped and wont do anything again. Any tips? -thanks
@shabear10004 жыл бұрын
Yes. There is still a clog in a line somewhere. Check all your hoses. Let me know how it turns out.

These need to all be reengineered. Way too many issues. One hour of cleaning and one hour of cleaning the machine. I wish Dyson would build something like this.

Very true. This design is very poor.

I have a laptop that i cant hear well from so if you said the model number I missed it, can you tell me the model number of yours?
@shabear10003 жыл бұрын
You may have to look at the video a little closer if I didn't mention it because unfortunately I sold it right after the repairs were done. So I no longer have it to check for you, sorry.

shabear1000 lol, time honoured tradition! Btw right now I’m trying to fix my Bissell water issues and found your video😊 I’m not so techy minded as yourself so right now just using a spray bottle with hot water instead. Super slow unfortunately. Thanks for uploading☺️

It sure would be nice if you could put your cigarette down for the 18 or so minutes it took to make this video. You must have a serious addiction. Next.
